"Break Free" mechanic is still very broken. Works about 60% of the time. Constitutes for at least 40% of my deaths.

    This. Can't move, can't do a damn thing, except watch my health bar go to zero and the respawn menu come up.

    When you get stunned, the server tells the client your stunned, you then do the break free move and the client tells the server, and the server then replays, yep you can move again.

    But if there is server lag, that data 'packet' can go missing so your client never knows it can move again. So you now are in 'permanent stun' until death.

    I think the lag monster has killed the most players in any MMO.

    They need to change it, so when the server tells your client its stunned, it also gives the client a timer (it currently does not) so if the client never gets a 'unstunned' packet from the server, the client instead of been permanently stunned, it will only be stunned until the timer expires.

    Just about anything client side is subject to modification on the user end.

    You could theorhetically shorten or even nearly eliminate said timers altogether if they actually were functional client side.

    Not that I disagree with you, something should be done about lag in massive games like this.

    This seems like a reasonable fix to me.

    this happens in pve too and has caused me to die more times than I can remember.

    THis happens way too frequently to just be the lag monster. No other mmo ive played that i can recall has failed to break cc. Delayed, yes, completely failed no.

    This is wrong the packet can't go "missing" they are not using a wireless connection there using a physical TCP/IP connection and part of TCP/IP is to retransmit a packet when there is an error. No matter who gets what first the client needs to synchronize with the server.

    The lag from the servers is worse than any other game I have ever played. I think the permastun you're referring to is occurring from an exploit though, but perhaps a smaller number are from server lag. It's been shown how to do the permastun and it's replicable , so we know players are exploiting is as much as they can before it gets fixed. For DKs, it's happening even if the player isn't aware he or she is doing it because it's part of their normal 5 button face smashing. Just kidding, I couldn't resist.

    The biggest problem is the servers or connection.The problem is they do not know how big of a datacentre they need and the more they scale up the datacentre the more it costs they are looking for a happy medium which takes time. It's a common problem among many mmos is the fact they have no idea how big of a server they need.

    This could be code related, hardware related, or even connection related no one knows really. Either way its not an easy fix.
