I have been trying to find work around this this for quite some time.

It randomly works when I deleted some files in the Launcher directory but it seems to be more random than anything else (found this on a website several weeks ago).

Are there any permanent solutions for this issue? It is getting rather frustrating have randomly delete files until it works.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    A lot of issues are windwos right issues.
    I make it a habit to never install games into any of the "Programm Files" folders. I made a specialised Games folder, for everything from ESO to steam to emulators and thier old games.
    Explicitly starting the launcher as administrator might help

    I am not sure how much the launcher actually store in it's directory (eso\launcher). It is a lot more common to stare data in the user profile as having write rights to the programm folder is the exception.
    But then again the launcher needs admin rights (in order to be able to write the game folders).

    Note that you can start the game directly using the proper "eso\live(eu)\eso.exe".
    The only things you need the launcher for are patching and repair scans.

    Also consider deleting the version identifying files of the Clients (everything in depot and vo_(langauge) folders that is neither .dat nor .bik). About 99% of the data is identical between EU and NA and mac/PC client. The rest can be generated again by a repair scan:

    Thanks for the advise. Bypassing the launcher is working. I had no idea that you could do that. Thanks again. Now I do not have to wait around deleting launcher files.
