Okay so when I heard that they are fixing the night silence set (60% speed boost), I wondered if it's going to stack with the vampire passive bonus, but I've said "oh come on, they can't be THAT stupid".

Well... You did it!

Vampire Nightblades now run faster than horses and that while sneaking!

Eeh, I'm sorry but that kind of untested changes do not belong in a subscription based MMO. I'm not paying to beta test the game for you.

Seriously, to any of you devs that made the changes in the update, did you see nothing wrong with that?

This must have been one of the most laughable issues I've seen in MMO's, and trust me I've seen some stuff...

What is wrong with it? there are disadvantages, the big one being using Night's Silence, you are sacraficing any form of extra damage, survivability or utility from another 5th set bonus so that you can sneak faster. Sneaking also drains your stamina. If you want to be effiecnt you need to use medium armor and sacrifice heavy or light armor. You do not get the the the speed bonus until you are completely hidden. you cant go into sneak and flee if you are in combat (sprinting away is still faster).

Not everyone uses concealed weapon and has the 25% sneak bonus

Not everyone is a vamp

I am not vampire but i dont know why vamp speed should not stack since you are already paying for the negative effects that come with being a vamp.

Now factor all this in and look at how many people actually use the Nights Silence set.... i would guess that it is less than 5%. And most of the assassin style players are using sets that help them do more damage

So i dont see why you would complain about something that is not even a problem and is barely used

Effect goes away when in combat.
Requires sacrificing another 5 piece set to get it.

It's good for positioning for melee openers, but not much else.

I think it's fine. Lots to give up as others have said. There are also significant glaring balance / ability issues so this is pretty minor in consideration.

It's useless in combat. I welcome anyone who uses it. I use it for travel and PvE crap for kicks.

I use it. It has serious costs, and really only works well for a specific niche play style. I think its great the way it is. Good for catching up to people and then delivering a burst opening (but you better pick your targets well or you are dead) or for recon/finding camps (which adds a really effective nightblade role in PvP). It is a great fix and should stay the way it is.

the speed bonus is completely removed once im out of stealth or even if my stealth eye is opened just a tiny little bit.
its useless in combat.
theres nothing wrong with me having high speed to get from point "A" to point "B"
it's of no damage nor harm to any one but me because i loose damage bonuses from the set i was previously wearing actually makes it better for my enemy.
it would be fair if we could get some damage increase out of it to help us nightblades.
during any kind of combat my speed is incredibly slow with or without that night silence set. which is realy the issue here for my nightblade.
i need speed, and high damage, and long length invisibility during combat. and the fact is i dont get any of those in with or without armor or the night set or any place in eso. THAT'S the real issue here. not my travel speed.
and by the way. when you say we are faster then horses the truth is we are about 1% faster because i have tested it against the fastest horse i could find and i Barely go faster then he does with my vampire speed passive and the night set speed bonus.
if anything is the problem its that we CANT KEEP that speed during battle. thats the problem. and also we need more damage.

None should be able to get close to horse speed even while sprinting. When someone not only gets close, but runs even faster and that while sneaking, it becomes a joke.

A vampire shouldn't be faster than a horse. Please repeat that to yourself a couple times and if the ridiculousness of that statement doesn't sink in I think you need to get your sense of reality checked. They are preternatural creatures that in most iterations can move at incredibly fast speeds. The 60% alone is not enough to outrun a horse either.

According to Wikipedia

"The fastest human footspeed on record is 44.72 km/h (12.42m/s, 27.44 mph)"

Why not? Please elaborate why this is such a bad thing. I use this for my solo gank build but it's absolutely fair. I sacrifice extra armor, weapon damage, spell damage, health regen, magicka regen, stamina regen, and ever other bonus that I could have used with another set just so I can sneak fast. It isn't effective during combat as you only get the bonus while you remain undetected and even after combat you still have to wait a good 20 seconds until you're not in anyone's line of sight before it works again. So please enlighten me more.

Vamps + Set... Vamps are supernatural so i would not say it ruins immersion...It also lets the everyone know your a vamp...

What is wrong with a Vamp moving at this speed ... Vamps are suppose to be fast in stealth yes faster then a horse according to vamp lore... I don't get why people get so upset...

If you weapon swap while sneaking you loose the bonus until you log out/in

Maybe if your weapon is part of the set. I have lost the buff only once, when rezzing from a PvP death, but fixed it easily by removing a piece of the set and re-equipping it.

I personally don't have a problem with it, if it gave incombat stealth speed (like with Nightblades Dark Cloak) it'd be incredibly powerful, but since it doesn't work while in combat I don't have a problem with it.

they're giving up good incombat bonuses for it. so its balanced.

Many things in this game doesnt do what it says except in very specific circumstances, for instance the traits that reduce stamina or magicka cost almost never reduce it by that amount, its usually less.
So there would be nothing weird about this not stacking.

Considering how buggy the various bat swarm abilities are atm, I wouldnt be surprised if this was a bug as well.

Role-playing issues are not valid arguments. We have horses in game for a reason. What's the point if we can be faster on foot and that while hiding?

Also everythime someone throws the "vamps are supernatural and fast" thing, remember that (you) are allowed to walk around like everyone else on daytime...

The set is fine. Seriously.. you gain nothing other then a speed boost when out of combat while sneaking.

Once in combat.. no more speed boost and on top of that you are weaker then the other players since you are giving up a more combat related set bonus.

i use SPF 6000

and remember - any toon can see for hundreds of yards in the dark

personally i enjoy the super fast sneak speed - it makes me extremely squishy in combat but allows me to play a scout role and harass enemies behind lines and enjoy a different playstyle to zergball

You can keep role-playing your desire for horses to be the fastest creature around.
The rest of us accept that the sacrifices players have to make to wear this set keeps it balanced within the game mechanics.

maybe nerf the set down to 50% but like others have pointed out including myself. you lose a good combat based 5set. the set has crit in it which is countered hard by impenetrable. the stealth only works not in combat so no invissing away at high speed. and even running faster then horses, why would you attack someone in a group? quite honestly if your on a horse, alone in the middle of the field you deserve to get ganked

I asked for the devs help on the PTS to test if this would stack with vampire speed or not but I was told it wouldn't be fair to other payers if they gave me items... On the PTS... For testing purposes. ::sigh::

so even with my vampire and Night Silence set, which in granting me nice stealth speed, i still cannot keep up with a bolt mage who doesn't need to sacrifice a 5 piece set of armor

i cannot pop the speed boost in combat like the bolt mage does

am NOT asking to nerf bolt mages

just showing that this is just another way to CHOOSE to play the game, that isn't any more OP than some other things out there, and one could argue the case that it isn't even close
