There's been several threads on it already, but they end up buried. Check out one of the many memory leak threads, as this seems to be the most likely culprit for the current crashing issue.

Not trolling, but how come I can play for 6 straight hours and not lag or crash?
I'm not saying there isn't a problem, I'm also not saying there isn't issues, but I don't see symptoms of a memory leak on my end. It could be possible some of the changes they have made are causing gpu drivers to hit the VRAM wall which will cause a crash.
I have 3gb cards, I wonder how much VRAM is on the cards folks are having problems with? Because hitting the VRAM wall will cause stuttering, lag, and crashes if the vid card ram is full. Skyrim had this problem early on.

"Here in his shrine, that they have forgotten. Here do we toil, that we might remember. By night we reclaim, what by day was stolen. Far from ourselves, he grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

My gpu has 2 gb of vram. You might be right, but that still doesn't explain why eso.exe is creeping up to 3.5 gb of RAM usage after a couple hours of play.
It's also a possibility that this problem only affects people with a certain OS, which could account for why some people get it and others don't. I'm stuck with Windows 8, no way to roll back to an older version of Windows without spending money I don't have. If it's a Windows 8 issue, then ZOS needs to come up with some kind of fix like they did for the Mac client, otherwise they're locking a good portion of their players out of being able to play.
