Problem: 'rubber band' effect EU server 05/08/2014

Hi,

I came on tonight to play a bit and have a go of the dye system. After using dye with two different characters, I went off exploring and looking for mats on one of them.

I lost count of actual times the problem happened but it would be in excess of 5 times in not more than a couple of hours play.

The problem that happens is that my character will be walking around doing everything just fine then suddenly will 'rubberband' or 'transport' back to where it was a few minutes earlier. There is no extra visual affect! The character is simply in one place one moment then back to a previous position the next.

This seems to me to show that the 'server' and 'client' are not communicating properly and thus the 'server' is forcing the character [or client] back to its last known position. I may be over simplifying or 'on the wrong track' but the problem is as described and I cannot think of another cause just now.

Whatever the cause, the problem has rendered the game almost unplayable.

Further information:
  • I have checked my ADSL speed and it is at expected normal (speedtest.net).
  • I have checked my home network and all seems fine.
  • I have reset my PC but this seemingly made no difference.
  • All drivers are up to date - including the AMD CCC and driver.
  • The game updated smoothly and is on v1.3.5.964404.
  • The game installation directory has not changed. (1.5TB Seagate Barracuda).

Addons:
  • Wykkyd's Framework - updated and seems to run fine.
  • Greymind quickslot bar - shows as old but seems to work fine.
  • Multicraft - shows as old but seems to work fine.

The problem happens with addons active and if the addons are not active.
