People are griefing at dye station with cone heals

no that is not what griefing is at all. Did you get your definition from hello kitty adventures or something?

THERE'S A HELLO KITTY ADVENTURE MMO?!!??
oh god....everything ive done in life up til now has been a waste, because I could have been playing this instead...

Anyway, my patch is almost finally done, and it sounds like im about to be really annoyed. How many people are doing this? Like, hundreds? It does seem funny in theory. In theory, communism works. Im probly gonna get mad and go make a hello kitty account.

These are not offenses. They are being pains in the behind but no one is being griefed.
A direct quote from the TOS.
You agree not to use the service to:

Engage in disruptive behavior in chat areas, game areas, forums, or any other area or aspect of the Services. Examples of disruptive behavior include, but is not limited to, conduct which interferes with the normal flow of gameplay or dialogue within a Service, vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, use of excessive shouting [all caps] in an attempt to disturb other users, "spamming" or flooding [posting repetitive text], commercial postings, solicitations and advertisements, posting advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.
I assume that not being able to dye your items due to another player is considered against the normal flow of gameplay. If it were a bug that was creating this problem, it would be dealt with; alas if it's a player that is causing the problem, they too need to be dealt with.

That being said, they should really fix this issue so that it isn't possible to grief at all.

I found nobody doing this on the vet10 city i was in. Only 2 other players trying it also actually.

Ill be doing my dyes in the VR10 zone, so no griefers for me.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

There's a really simple solution to this and other methods of griefing. All they have to do is disable all magical effects inside banks and crafting areas/buildings.

Upon entering a bank or an area meant for crafting purposes, no magic and no pets.

Thanks for your reports, folks! If another player is making it impossible for you to dye in peace, please report them in-game. Our Support Team will be happy to investigate further.

Edit: In addition, please be sure to keep your comments here civil and respectful. We ask that all posters keep the Code of Conduct in mind. If you feel as though another player has violated our Code of Conduct, please use the report feature to alert the moderation team rather than replying in-thread, as this often needlessly escalates the situation.

Sorry Tristan but this is all on ZOS. We have complained frequently and regularly about not being able to conduct our business in banks and crafting stations due to the flapping of winged pets and the spamming abilities. It is just not possible for us to find the individuals out of many responsible to report/ignore them. You, however, have complete control over this. You can very easily disable animations in those areas. Problem solved. That you haven't done so in all of this time full knowing how it is bothering us leads many to assume that this is some purposeful sadistic exercise or simply technological incompetence. Maybe it is something that just is being constantly swept under the rug or put on a shelf while attending to issues deemed more important at the time.

Whether accidental or purposeful this affront can no longer be accepted. It should be dealt with and dealt with quickly.

Out of curiosity, how many of the dye stations are inside vs. outside? I've been going to one outside, so just disabling animations in buildings wouldn't help...

A (invisible) collision box around banks and crafting stations would easily take care of this.

Whenever a player is inside that box, their pets despawn and they can't cast spells.

Just like the collision boxes that make you automatically dismount when you enter them.

    ...

I think you are confusing what you consider an action that causes grief, vs. what the OP considers an action that causes grief. It's perfectly valid for you to not experience grief, if another player does this to you. However, it is not valid to say that it does not cause grief for someone else.

When an individual is experiencing grief, as a result of the repeated actions of another player, where those actions serve no legitimate in-game purpose, I think its sound policy for Zenimax to take corrective action. Or at least evaluate it.

I can't believe that it took all of 5 minutes to figure out how to grief dye stations. Dye stations! What could be innocuous than that?! And then 5 minutes later, they were on their little bat phone network telling all the other griefers about it. And 5 minutes after that, every last one of them had crawled out of their cave and they were at every dye station in Tamriel. Giggling away behind their keyboards like Beavis & Butthead.

Unbelievable. It just boggles the mind how some people's brains work. :-(

I had a thought earlier today. The menus for dyes, banks, etc. already tell the game to not draw other player models so as not to block the view. Couldn't effects be flagged the same way, making all the annoyance disappear as soon as the dialogue was up?

Well, it is not easy to "target" someone standing in the mass of bodies spamming these abilities, and they do not usually advertise that they are the one you want to report.

If there is one thing these dye stations prove , is that people will try to grief others over anything.

Hope zen learns that this is how playerbase behaves and start to listen to the many threads talking about possible grief issues on their new systems.

That is the funniest post I have seen on these Forums. Thanks for the laugh and I gave you a LOL.

Thanks for making my pizza come out of my nose.

NOTE to self: Don't eat while reading these Forums. It could be hazardous to your health.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

Don't even have to go that far. My gf and I have a favorite VR4 town where every thing is right next to each other. We were the only ones at the dye station. To bad I'm a Templar, and she is a sorc. I spammed the crap out of my heals, teach her to roll an op class and then laugh at me while I flail around!

    *A bunch of useless drivel*

Quoted from the terms of service, Section 8, fourth bullet point down:

"Harass, stalk, threaten, embarrass, spam or do anything else to another user of any Services that is unwanted, such as repeatedly sending unwanted messages or making personal attacks or statements about race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc.;"

I'd say such behavior is unwanted...therefore griefing. But thanks for letting us know which side of the fence you stand on.

I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.
