I agree that it is very annoying not to at least know what and from which guild store something sold from.

Even if we had an option to display only our own sales on the sales log, that would be an improvement. Even though transaction numbers are capped at a certain number in the log, if we could switch it to display personal sales only, it would go back pretty far.

An in game mail showing this info is still the best option though.

    How would this be better?

At the moment, I log in and see that "name of buyer" is buying up all bait for achievements, or a ton of green medium/light armours to level up their crafting. I know what they want and when.

List only my sales and I might see that a week ago "name of buyer" bought bait, or a ton of armours to level up crafting. Does he or she want these items now? No, they already have what they needed and have moved on to something else.

If you are a successful vendor - and I sell a fair bit - you will already know the trends. If you aren't selling anything, then changing the history as currently displayed to show only your sales will just compound your poor selling, it will do nothing to correct or improve it.

Not sure how many times this has to be explained to you. Perhaps you aren't even reading this thread.

If I have 100 listings and I get a mail that tells me one of my listings sold, I want to know which listing it was without spending an absurd amount of time looking through all of my listings to try to figure out what I sold. And if you have a job and a life, often times that info isn't even availiable any more on the sales logs.

In addition, this is a very simple feature that is found in every other MMO that has an auction house. This has been examined multiple times. If you ask again I will dismiss you as a troll.

What does it matter as long as it sell's and you get you gold.

And i thought the max listings is 30 not 100.

Stop with the troll comments. Just because you fail to see that what we have already is far superior to the thing you are requesting, it does not make me a troll for continually pointing it out.

But anyway, to answer your hypothetical, a quick look at your store listings will show where you have a sale slot available. It works on the exact same premise as going to the crafting station and seeing 2/3 research slots being used.

You say you don't want to scroll through multiple listings to figure out what was sold, but dismiss @Syzmicke's question "What does it matter as long as it sells and you get your gold?"

I'd really love you to answer that question because currently the guild sales history is more informative and current than the information you are requesting. It is one of many examples in ESO where ZOS have taken a "feature found in every other MMO" and has improved upon it.

As for claiming anything in a MMO is 'simple', not only is that rarely (ever?) the case, different game engines handle things differently.

You yourself have unknowingly raised a potential issue. That is, the ability to join 5 guilds simultaneously may seriously impact the mail system if everyone's characters were requesting individualised data from each guild they belonged to. I am not stating this as fact, by the way - I am not a programmer - but I have played enough MMOs to understand there is a reason we have limits on quest journals and store listings.

I agree. At least tell me what the item that sold was. I have a lot of stuff priced about the same, and it's a pain to tell what actually sold.

    1. Digging through endless logs of data that might or might not even be available is far superior than a one sentence notification? Ok, got it.

    2. The current system does not work like a crafting station research list which shows what is still available for research. Unless you are suggesting that we all should have a photographic memory in which we can keep track of every listing and automatically know which items sold simply because we have an open slot on that particular guild store. Your comment here is so outlandish that it defies any reason for me to take you seriously.

    3. The current system is more informative and current than what we are requesting... so long as we don't mind looking through endless logs and, oh yea we have no life and can log in every 6 hours to make sure the log still shows our sale. Yup, got it.

Your arguments are not even remotely convincing. Nobody is suggesting that we remove the existing logs. All we want is a few more words included in the mail notification.

In fact I will be completely honest here. I find your reasoning against this feature to be so outrageous that the only reason I even respond to you is to keep the thread bumped.

I have noticed a definite increase in sales on the guild stores since the traders were activated. This is nice, but it will make it even harder to find transaction reports in the sales logs because they only display a certain amount. So if you are at work or sleeping when an item is sold, there is an even smaller chance that you will know what sold.

Hopefully we can get this changed. If you agree with this thread, please post here and keep it active.

Other MMO's that provide this information bugged me when my mailbox filled with advertisements. I couldn't stand it when I received mail from sellers asking if I wanted to buy anything.

If a buyer wants to develop a personal trading agreement... let them initiate it (they see who crafted or sold the item they purchased).

Way to lump everyone into one category. I can't imagine very many people would bother to spam anyone. This is stereotypical hogwash. Even if I did decide to actually send someone a whisper, I would never do it more than once. The mail you get is from gold sellers, not people that you buy from on guild stores or auction houses.

Thank you for that. There are a few addons out there that do the job. But as 1.3 has reminded us, using multiple addons is a real pain after a patch. Juggling outdated addons, figuring out which ones work and which ones don't, all while waiting for updated versions to come out is a hassle. Not to mention bugs and game crashes caused by outdated addons.

This is a simple feature that should be a default part of the game.

I agree this would be helpfull. I want to know what I sould without having to look through transaction logs or the like.

But I also see how this would make the whole selling process a whole lot more (processing) costly.
And if there is one thing a MMO has to be, it is not being costly in bulk operations like this.

Currently they propably just tell the mail system:
    SendStoreProceeds(sellerUserID, (BidPrice-SellFee))
Chances are the text is not even generated before you receive the email ingame. There even is a decent chance the text is just the clients way to display mails of type "StoreProceeds", without any actuall text having been send through the mail system.

So the current system is very cheap.
Every piece of data they add makes the thing linerary more costly.
And those selling operations are already DB transactions, the last thing they want is to make the non-db part slower.

Quite the opposite really. You can state your noble intentions all day long, and/or espouse your proclivity to avoid spamming on your part (though even one simple /tell from you would still be spam, regardless your intentions). Simple point being, unless you were specifically asked by a buyer to continue trade, anything else on your part is spam. And while YOU feel that you are capable of reigning it in... The mechanic alone would be open for abuse.

Shopkeeper and other addons supply you with all this information. You can also find it in the logs. So your concept of everyone spamming each other with harassing offers for future business would already be happening if it were going to happen.

The point of the thread is that we shouldn't need to rely on addons for this type of information as it is included with every other AAA MMO.

1.4 will make all guild logs, inc sales logs 30 days long. So that's one of my request done in JUNE, answered.

It is important that the mailbox is not abused to save items in, but text based mail only could be saved?

And sale log is good today. The data you need is there. Look in the guild that the item got sold. You see seller and buyer. Price and time. Put that data in the mail to the seller and buyer?

    Then check guild sales history.

And which guild? Hmmmm? It doesn't even tell you which guild the unknown item sold from. No, I don't have time to check all four of my trade guilds to find out simple information while I'm trying to play the game. I shouldn't have to. This is basic stuff that should have been in the game at launch.

I agree wholeheartedly with the OP. The sales information from the guild store is embarrassingly inadequate for a game released in 2014. The whole thing looks like a last minute, poorly planned component, that was never tested with players. It was the first thing I noticed after a sale..."ummm, ok which of the stuff I listed sold? Why is this info not provided in the mail? Wait... What guild store even?!?...lol, ZOS." Provide your players with the information. Why not do this? Players want MORE information, in every category, in all aspects of the game... Not less.
