Until last week both servers were in the US, kass.

Initially, maintenance was planned closer together and EU was scheduled first, if I recall correctly. However, Zen bent over backwards to provide not only EU but also Oceanic players with a reasonable maintenance schedule that has minimal interruption of game play.

Whatever else any of us might fault in, maintenance times is not one of them. ESO has the most accommodating schedule of any MMO I have played.

If I can keep playing the EU server while NA is in chaos, I'm not gonna complain

well i'm glad we have updates later , because if something goes wrong in NA our will be delayed , or "fixed" before implemented.

    Quite.

Thanks to InPhantax, the maintenance server announcement is displaying only NA times, as defined further up the thread.

You got your wish Inphantax, we are now both being patched in 'tomorrow'...lol.

Personally I think the US getting to alpha test the patches is a great idea, after all epic fail in the US means the EU server gets to stay running while they fix the issues...

Rubbish, last time an update went balls-up they still released the exact same update onto the EU server !

My question is: why can't I remove the notification on top of the forum? There was always an X to close it, now it's gone and I must watch this giant window in three languages all the time. -_-

edit: oh, it's back. Nevermind then.

Why not just start the EU maintenance at 10.00 EDT on Sunday night then?
That would mean both NA and EU get their updates on a Monday !

    ;)

Paying IT people to go to work on Sunday likely costs extra, even in the US...

Its because of the exchange rate of the currency and the time zone difference...and because they put "U"s in words for no reason (ie. Colour).

I honestly dont know what I'm talking about. Clearly.

Well, Kar I'd still say the best time to do such was still beginning with the 8am EST time when the workers wake up and go to work (as do many players.) The fact the server was not IN the EU really was not relevant as to why it happens when it happens. The NA server has been this was almost since the beginning since the EU folk were pissed about the original timing...which was pretty early on. They really do, as you said, try to accommodate the most folks.

At that time I suspect they were working 24/7 and now that things are more "stable" they may work more normal hours.

However as I do not work for them I am only stating what makes sense to me. Somebody has to be first. As the times are so close IDK why anyone would be annoyed one way or the other.
