Why is EU a day late Getting Update 1.3 ?

Now the EU has a dedicated EU based server why are we still getting updates a day later then the NA server?
I could understand (sort of) before when both servers were based in the US, but I don't now see the justification in the 24 hour delay?

Feel free to correct me on this point - I can't think of an MMO where a content update has been done on different servers over different days ???

We always did get it one day later.

I guess less issues for ZoS staff if something goes pear shape. Who forgot previous patch that was rolled on NA and they had no server for 3 days?

Let them (NA) be the lab rats.

Well that's not correct really. How many times have we seen an update launched on NA that goes horribly wrong and they 'still' released it on EU ?
1.2 springs to mind. There were so many people saying hold back on the EU launch after all the complaints from the NA server players and they went ahead regardless

Well, Monday night in the US is Tuesday morning in Europe. I assume the people who do the updates finish one and then start on the other right away.

I spent some years growing up in England and that "water separation" is just a ferry ride away. I have taken Puget Sound ferries that took near as long as that.

L2 (NA) was updated quite a while after the Korean servers but I assume that was translation time.

Regardless, Zen have given EU a maintenance slot that disrupts game time the least of any MMO I have played, despite occurring twice weekly. Please don't ruin that by complaining about the small wait, thus giving Zen an excuse to work on both servers simultaneously.

I couldn't care less about us getting it one day later!

What i do care about is the horrible lagspikes constantly. I hope they hotfix it when they find the solution and do not wait till patchday to do it.

the main reason is: updating at the same time as the US server, would be EUs prime game time...
I kinda prefer getting my update ~10 (not 24) hours later, without any disturbance to my play time

They Patch only a Day later and the Patchtimes are very good, so i am happy with this.

last i remember it's EU who get that crap first, the UK are to foreigner worried to accept every random thing brought in to be "testers"

ANYWAYS on topic, i do find it abit unfair but at the same time it's good, means we can see all the US QQ threads before the EU ones

Totally agree with @dsalter‌! It's not so bad that we get update a little later. NA dont get any benefit from it.

well exept maybe a first hand go of finding exploits, personally i dont mind but the same time is fairer... but then you cross that line of prime times

PTS makes the small time difference irrelevant when it comes to 'finding' exploits.

Only that they get to play the new content a day sooner than we do, last time I checked EU players pay the same subs as NA players ?

To clarify about our maintenance schedule:

We are performing the NA maintenance on Monday at 8:00AM EDT, and EU maintenance on Monday 10:00PM EDT.

However due to the different time-zones, it makes EU maintenance happening on Tuesday 3:00AM BST (4:00AM CEST).

Why not just start the EU maintenance at 10.00 EDT on Sunday night then?
That would mean both NA and EU get their updates on a Monday !

My belief that EU people are generally a bit more stoic and sensible than their NA counterparts, and that British people were the most stoic and sensible of them all, has been well and truly shattered.

Personally I think the US getting to alpha test the patches is a great idea, after all epic fail in the US means the EU server gets to stay running while they fix the issues...

I'd say the reason they start with the NA server is because Zeni/Bethesda is located in Bethesda, Maryland in the East Coast of the U.S. So these guys come into work and get started at 8 a.m. (or a bit earlier.)

So as they have to pick some time to start and they don't want to do both at once anyway-that is when it happens. No conspiracy just common sense.

So yes, whatever we get by going first may be offset by whatever issues there maybe.

It is only 14 hours difference assuming there is no delay so it isn't actually an entire day later. So say they spend an entire eight hour shift to get it running and then they would have six hours to watch it go and make sure (hopefully) it doesn't go belly up. Doesn't typically take that long though, but it is a big patch.
