Also while the Merry Men were fictional, Robin Hood was not.
The Sherwood Forest stretched way past Sheffeild in those days, and the Sherrif of Sheffield issued a bounty on a "Robbing Hod", who over the decades became Robin Hood.
But nobody knows why the myth shifted him to Nottingham.
Looking at the list of dye achievements, I'm fairly sure you will have a decent selection just from playing whatever way you do. Might not be the exact combo you want, but I doubt you'll be backed into such a corner. If I can't dye my armor the color I want due to the (self censor) achievement tie in, then I intend to dye it as ugly/garish as possible in protest.
(A.k.a. if I can't get it right, then I may as well get it really *really* wrong. I play first person, so can't see myself anyways unless I'm on a horse or in a menu.)
(and, to note: I have absolutely no intention of wasting my time doing unfun things in order to get achievements to dye my armor, so the odds of ugly/garish armor is probably quite high.)

All the reds are pink in the light so I guess I am reluctantly pink. Would love an option to put on flat colors instead of "high gloss".

Depends on the base colour, my DK has red trim, and in the light it still looks red, metallic red but red all the same.
Having said that, I wouldn't want to try it with my Sorcs light armour, that would look pinkish in bright light.
