This all to common concept that Elder Scrolls is all Dark, Dank and very brown and grey or is 'Lore breaking' is nothing short of ridiculous.

Elder Scrolls from Arena through to ESO has always had a large variety of color in armor and robes much more so that other games. Just because it's not cartoony people see only grey.

and don't even get me started on what mods added to this:

I was looking through nexus mods to find improvements to the faces and bodies of oblivion's models, (I find the faces to puffy.) Some of the stuff on there... it's not like you can have actual sex with these animated graphics or even simulate it in the game (unless there's a mods for that but please don't tell me if there is.)

Lol! It goes much further than a normal person would think. Probably best not to go there though.

But the point is 'color' there is plenty all around Tamriel. Check out glass armor for a start.

In morrowind my gear is all glass (every piece stolen from a chest or store shelf tyvm) except wraithguard and the savior's hide.

I actually, adjusting for graphical upgrades, prefer morrowind glass to what they have been proposing for upcoming glass motifs. The spiky parts of the morrowind glass and the elaborate helm are awesome.

I take more issue with bright/neon shades of any color than with the color pink.

Those colours (including Neon/Electric/Dayglow style hues) were quite common during Europe's Dark Age, clothes were frequently brightly coloured (ridiculously so), and Armour enamels could and were frequently coloured similarly.

To emphasize this try looking up the original story for Robin Hood, it has over 300 colours for clothes named, mostly including bright red stockings for the merry men (Will Scarlett merely wore a different shade of red).

Hehe, Robin Hood is a myth. No facts have ever been revealed to state he actually existed....and definitely his 'merry men' never did.
It was kill or be killed in those days and not much 'merriment' atall what with starvation, poverty, the Black death ect. ;)

Maybe some of it. Pink Daedric armor could look cute ^^

Also why would Pink be Lore breaking?
Is it not a color in the Elder Scrolls verse?

Well have you seen any characters in former Elder Scrolls games wearing bright pink, or neon colors what so ever? The only one who comes close as far as I know is Sheogorath. I'd hate seeing it for the same reason I'd hate seeing soldiers of Minas Tirith, or Stark bannermen, suddenly dressed in neon pink. It doesn't fit medieval settings, dyes like that weren't available at all in actual medieval times (except perhaps for royalty and aristocracy), and it looks ridiculous.

Some of those Telvanni wizards wore vibrant robes, like technicolor dreamcoats.

That might be because my Morrowind was highly modded though. I actually don't even know what vanilla clothing looks like.

I bought it on Steam. I really only started playing TES games a very short time ago. Got a computer that could finally handle skyrim, played it and loved it, and someone suggested morrowind as the best of the series so I got that. I am now working my way slowly through oblivion.

Morrowind is the best of them, imo.

Best and worst! Overall I would have to say Skyrim was the best, but it lacks a little of what Morrowind had. Never really got into Oblivion, played it through, but didn't spend the time I did on Morrowind and Skyrim.

I couldn't say about pre Morrowind. I can't play games that looks like that. Not now, not when they were the cutting edge of graphics. But I hear Daggerfall is very good. I think you can get it free, so if you can look past what it looks like...

Combat level in Skyrim was about the only thing against it. But none of them were exactly hard.

Morrowind was great, but also one of the most frustrating things I have ever done, and I'm not talking challenging frustrating I'm talking walking around until blind luck comes into play.

Morrowind had a better mood though and to be fair I probably put more hours into it than all the rest put together.

I consider oblivion to be fairly challenging. Morrowind was challenging early on, and both of those games had far more features you had to pay attention to than in Skyrim which just sort of over simplified everything to appeal to a broader audience.

Wandering around in Morrowind could be very frustrating (finding Boethiah's and Azura's temples were rage-inducing) though I suspect half of that was because of the cliff racers.

Also while the Merry Men were fictional, Robin Hood was not.
The Sherwood Forest stretched way past Sheffeild in those days, and the Sherrif of Sheffield issued a bounty on a "Robbing Hod", who over the decades became Robin Hood.
But nobody knows why the myth shifted him to Nottingham.
