Thanks for making a video of this issue.
I've mentioned it a few times in other threads, but have never seen anyone put it out there so it can be seen.

Keys not working used to happen very regularly for me but no so much of late but is still happening - a quick /reloadui usually fixes this but when you are in the middle of a fight it usually spells - death!

On the key-locking issue; the quickest way to resolve it is to open -any- menu and close it fast. Don't have to /reloadui, just hit [Esc] or open you inventory or whatever and close it again really fast. It resets all your buttons; or at least always has for me.

Two quick button presses is way faster than trying to type "/reloadui" in mid-combat. Saved my bacon a bunch of times.

    The solution is time!

Veiled strike as I use cannot do damage again within 2 seconds of its last use. So once you kill the first mob and go back into shadow cloak just wait a half to whole second before you sneak attack the next mob and you will do damage.

heh, NBs have to be so tactical and work around bugs...while you watch a sorc walk into the middle of a group of 3 and hit one button over and over.

It is kinda comical. Still love the game and my NB though.

That would be great, but in the video there is a 3 second gap between the first and second use.

Also, why would hide>stealth>Veiled Strike(Morph)=dead enemy #1, re-stealth>Heavy Attack=no damage to second enemy happen?

And why has my other NB never (which is why I'm more confused than annoyed) had this happen? It'll be interesting, when I return to my NB blighted with this problem, to see if it still does it.

The "attack but no dmg" bugg has been there since beta pretty much.
Attacks from stealth and suprise attack seems to bugg out the most.

Sweet. Never tried that before

Thanks for the tip and next time it happens I will use that even though I have gotten pretty quick at typing /reloadui, lol

    Cheers

Well I've been playing my nightblade that gets the bug and using the same tactics which the "no damage" bug would occur and managed to play over 30 hours with no bug. Then it happened, then again and again. Logged off 'cause I needed a break and when I logged back on it seemed to have been cured, at least for a while then it would do it randomly again (But never on the first use, only the second use on a second enemy)
Snipe also started bugging out with a different bug, the "looks like you haven't done any damage but it's just the enemy health bar not showing it" so an opening shot from snipe wouldn't show on the health bar and any hits after that wouldn't show until the enemy just fell over dead (combat log shows damage being dealt).
Got the attack unresponsiveness problems a few times but opening my inventory and closing it worked every time and I carried on killing evil things.

Still having great fun, it adds that extra dynamic to a fight.

I've lost count of the times when my first concealed strike has done no damage at all leaving me to face 3, full health opponent (although even this isn't as frustrating as another regular NB bug which leaves me with no useable skills at all as the skills keys stop working!).

Strange how it can differ between two players, because I have never encountered this even once. The skill keys not working, is this NB specific?

Though that which is shown in the video I have encountered. And I don't think it's a "bug". I think you're asking a lot from one mechanic (namely "stealth"). Let's think of what would happen if you could initiate a fight from stealth and get the crit > then you stealth again > then go into the next stealth initiate + crit on the next character. The issue that would come up is that, as long as you have the right skills and enough magicka, you could initiate a 4-5 mob and you would just stealth, initiate + kill one, stealth out and repeat on the next NPC enemy without taking virtually ANY hits. You would reduce PvE to senseless slaughter. Game broken. Yay.

Instead be clever about it, like Zenimax is. The point of stealth? Hiding. If you want to fight you can't expect to just hide right after you initiate a mob. This is stupid, you're standing in front of an enemy who just "saw" you kill his mate, now you want to stealth and expect to "surprise" him as well. Zenimax is bringing a realistic element to the combat by saying you can't surprise the same group with the same move.

    What??
I'm hoping your comments were meant to be satirical. Yeah you should be able to use your classes defining spell to go into stealth in combat and score the bonus crit from it. EVERY TIME.

Yes me too. I'm getting tired of having to work around bugs for my abilities though. The latest gift from ZOS is not being able to switch weapons while stealthed. Is that important to a nightblade? Not at all.

I don't know why I'm posting again but...regarding stealthing in combat.

I have a DK and a NB and both have soloed (almost) the dwemer world boss in coldharbour.

The DK saw a 'tiny female bosmer nightblade' start attacking the bosses adds (with bow) and I had to come to the aid of said bosmer. My DK then destroyed the adds (with help from bosmer + bow) and moved onto the dwemer centurion with a combination of hiding behind the boss, blocking, lots of light 2H attacks, the odd DoT and a damage shield (not forgetting dragon blood). The bosmer kept her distance throughout the fight (think I might have switched to S&B to taunt the centurion a couple of times). It was fun and the bosmer thanked me.

My NB (strangely a tiny female bosmer nightblade) took out the centurions four adds one by one with a stealthy one shot and a stealthy getaway before dealing with the next one (that was real fun). My medium armour wearing NB then moved onto a stealthy attack to the centurion, no one shotting this guy. I think he had something like 25,000 HP and it was one hell of an endurance fight, stealthing meant a heavy attack crit, a second or two to regen and the short armour buff that comes along with it. No magicka for 'veiled strike' I needed that magicka for other things.

None of my abilities, class or dual wield, bugged out on me and that made for a real fun fight (this was last night while suffering bugging out in multi mob fights).

    ....anyway....what was I saying.

Glad that my NB is a tank... I don't think that they'll ever fix stealth on this game.
Mine is a tank also. Yet when i tried PvP i felt useless, like there was no actual role for me. Jumping into the thick of battle in PvP gets me killed very fast, staying away on the other hand makes me an observer... Don't know its probably because i ve been playing PvE for months but only recently started PvP
