And are we ever going to see this fixed and or improved?

Why is everything so weak compared to resto staff?

Circle of life 10% + damage < should be on destro staff imo
10% mana on heavy complete < should be on both

I had not realized how strong restostaff was.
But really it seems to be like this

    Worst to Best:
DualWield --> Twohand --> (Massive Gap) --> Shield --> Bow --> (Massive Gap) --> Destruction Staff --> Resto Staff

I prefer to play a heavy armor melee damage-dealer, I'm a DK (in my head, that is the way I want to play the game, heavy armor and 2H sword), but took resto-staff as my second weapon and that's what gets me through the tough PvE solo battles - resto-staff heavy attack to replenish magicka, dodge-roll, dragon blood (or regeneration from the resto line), you can keep going forever like that. It's chipping away rather than a quick victory, but there are some fights where going for the quick victory will result in a handy recap of why and how you died.

To be honest, I would prefer it if I could be as effective wading in with a melee weapon, there are some issues with balance between different playstyles.

I have diversified in terms of mixing light and medium armor on my Nightblade (Vet level 6), but have so far just stuck it out with melee weapons. (Never even equipped a staff from Beta to present.) In the standalone games (Morrowind, Skyrim, etc.) I enjoyed melee as much as spell casters and did play them all, but enjoyed archery and sensations of melee like mechanics. Weak as it is, melee is still workable for veteran leveling content right now, especially with the nerfs that I guess occurred before I moved into Vet level 4 content around a month ago. I hope that players like us are not neglected indefinitely, and am trying to stay patient with a game that is still just a few months old.

Seems what ever class I'm rolling now (have 8 characters) they all have Resto Staff as their secondary.

He dident really go into it. The changes that have already been implemented have done pretty much nothing to improve the situation. And what he does not realize is magicka builds are alot more popular than stamina ones, Because, they are ridiculously stronger.
If the situation was reversed, with stamina builds being overpowered compared to magicka ones, stamina builds would be overly popular.
This is how MMO's work, the majority of players eventually end up with the most optimized rotation possible, meaning everyone with the same weapon and spell set.
