What's to prevent 2 players from working together to farm continuous bounty kills for fast cash?

I think the consequences for killing an NPC should be brutal (and given the high monetary cost, it will be) and that guards should be pretty powerful.

I guess I missed that part. How is cost implemented? I thought they just killed you and you pay 100 gold to repair.

The bounty stays until you pay it off, I believe. In this case, he'd killed several NPCs, and his bounty was high enough to buy a horse.

Ok that brings back my original question - how do you prevent bounty trading? I could work up a good bounty then have my buddy kill me over and over to rack up mega-gold reward. If the bounty stays through death it just makes this problem worse. Eventually we split the proceeds and I pay off the bounty with plenty extra.

Whatever money he makes, you will have to pay. ( I'd think at least ). So you would essentially be giving him money. How do we even know there will be a reward?

I wont have to pay him anything if Im on an alt that has no money.
"How do we even know there will be a reward"
Well, thats the general meaning of "bounty".

    let them
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Do bounties work that way? I never heard anything about whether or not you get the other player's bounty when you kill them.

Then you will continue to die. I doubt there will be a reward given to players.

I imagine any reward wouldn't be monetary. Maybe an achievement- 'Law of the Land: Killed 1000 Wanted Players, unlocked 'Lawkeeper's Gold Dye' or whatever.

Ok, I never heard of the word bounty being put on someone without it implying that it was a reward for the death or capture.

In previous ES games, "bounty" was used to describe the amount of gold you owed. If you couldn't pay your bounty, you either went to jail or died.

When the player is killed the bounty is cleared and they are no longer PvP flagged.

What makes you think bounty collected goes to the guard players? Pretty much everything this game is about is making gold go poof into the server, bet this will be too.

They talked about players going evil or good so it sounds like points will be put into a karma type system.

I have nothing based on what they said, but normally thats what bounty means. Its a reward paid to whoever catches an outlaw. Plus there is the fact that every other quest that sends you to kill someone rewards you cash when you do it.

Well they'd be foolish to add a monetary reward for this, because you can bet everyone will farm it. My guess is the bounty is just a word that is applied to a character to make them pvp-enabled, and when the "bounty" is "collected", this status simply goes away and no reward is given to the player guard, bar the ego boost from killing someone on a pve map.

This is months away, a lot of thought will go into it. Pretty much they just announced what will be in the game and how much they have put into so far. I wouldn't worry about exploits or how it doesn't make sense until they at least announce which update will feature it.
