I did not say I should get a dog for free or that I should get the dog simply because someone else has it, or even because I have been here first.
I am just asking ZOS to let us have access to 100% of the content, like they said we would have in a pay to play system.

snowmanflvb14_ESO✭✭✭✭Well first off you can already purchase a horse in game just by earning enough gold from quests/looting/or selling items. That only leave the imp race. I am sorry but many games put items in that you have to purchase a collectors edition or Digital deluxe or preorder to get. The digital collectors edition is no different. They dog through steam is no different that any other game offering a perk if you purchase it through a 3rd party such as steam or Best Buy or any other one. I don't make the rules and often don't agree with them but, that's just how it is. For example. Say your favorite bands album comes out tomorrow and the first 300 that buy it get a limited to 300 SPECIAL thing. If your buyer 301 your not getting the special thing. And, it's illogical to think said SPECIAL item should be available to everyone in some fashion..That makes it...not special.0 -

Yes. It is only a perk to buy from steam. We got perks for buying the game early. So really this is a non issue but the players who think they are entitled to everything that comes out are making it an issue.2 -

I buy drum heads from Evans and on each package there are "Player Points" that can be a accumulated and used at their online store for things like mugs, key chains, shirts, etc.
It would be cool if each monthly renewal provided "Tamriel Points" that could be used for purchasing in game pixel items: pets, disguises, trophies, etc.
Not only is it a nice little "thank you" for supporting the company, but an added incentive for continuing a sub. Especially when pixel items have little to no material overhead like physical ones. It's created once and the file is downloaded repeatedly.
As I finish this it came to mind: DDO gave VIP subscribers Turbine points each month to use in the store. So it's not an unheard of practice in the MMO realm.
As soon as I saw this I thought, my god, I wasn't the only DDO player

As for the OP I totally agree, I have no problem with a cash shop, for 'instant gratification'........
BUT as an already fairly expensive subscription online game, those items should also be unlockable in-game......

If you get a certain item while buying ESO through a certain vendor or a different edition then you should get what ZoS offered with it without having to pay or do anything extra for it. That's fine. But there's no harm in ZoS then offering it to everyone else in-store or in-game. Everyone wins.0 -

I agree wholeheartedly with this. I'm not asking Zeni to give everybody with the Imperial Edition this white dog. I'm only asking for some means to obtain the dog - handout, in-game purchase, cash shop purchase, whatever. If this extends to all the vanity pets, great.0 -

✭As long as the items they sell in the store are fluff (vanity) then I could care less what they sell and for what price because I have zero obligation to purchase it. Now if I have money to burn and WANT something (that doesn't effect my gameplay, or others because I have said thing) then by all means make them available. The only paywall they could institute is selling top tier gear, or access to certain areas. If that never happens then the rest is fine.0 -

So...I'm at the Bethesda store right now...the one you get to via the "store" link on ESO's main page...and I see T-shirts, lithographs, statues...etched glasses...a wallet, a keychain, couple of messenger bags, a notebook..and an actual book, "The Heroes Guide to The Elder Scrolls Online". Don't see anything you could actually use ingame there.

Aha. I was at the wrong store page. Found the one you might be referencing, but I still don't see what you're fussing about. Right now, there's the Digital Imperial and Digital Standard edition being offered, alongside the Digital Imperial upgrade and the palomino horse.
The only ingame item they're currently selling is the palomino horse, and you can buy that from any stable ingame.
Pretty sure you're just stirring the Puppygate pot.

1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
3) Difficulty slider.
4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.0 -

Based on the OP's request, for ZOS to live up to this statement, they would need to implement any items available in the cash shop or through any other paid means as quest rewards ingame. This could be implemented at any point within the lifespan of ESO before it can be considered a lie.
Most likely all presently available pets or some variation of, will be available either ingame or through the cash shop or both.

Yup, that's the way I feel. I'd like to go back to the point in gaming where, for my $15 a month, that meant I got 100% of the game.

I could be wrong, but I believe the OP was referring to the possibility of the white hound appearing in the 'store' as the only means of acquiring it, and if that happens, the OP was against that idea.
Currently, the only way to get the item is to purchase the edition of the game, over the next three days, via Steam. For those thousands of us who already own the game - that is obviously a pretty stupid idea.
Instead, the OP was hoping/asking that we'd be able to find a way to earn it in-game: gold, quests, jumping-jacks - whatever.
The OP was not asking for anything to be 'handed' to them.

But what they've already set in motion - and are continuing to do, obviously - is create frustration over content. Today, it's vanity pets. Tomorrow, it could be a dungeon. Or high-end weapons and armor. Or whatever.
The OP was just restating their opinion (and desire) to see these things offered through the -game itself-, just as Zenimax promised content would be provided, just a few months ago. If you don't like them - you wouldn't have to pursue them, and other people having them would not cause you any sort of inconvenience.

Dog is for buying the game thru steam. These are all perks and should not be available any other way. Otherwise they are no longer perks.1
