That logic is a common, but still a fallacy because it could pretty much invalidate *any* complaint anyone has at any time.- Don't like gas prices? Just be happy you weren't blown up in a plane.
- Don't like the fact that your child was just murdered in cold blood? You should be happy you didn't lose all of your children to an African warlord during his latest village raid.
- Don't like the way your burger was cook? You should be happy because the cook at least washed his hands, so it could be worse.
So yeah, bad stuff happens all over the world. There's probably bad stuff happening in other parts of the galaxy as well. Maybe a star just went supernova 10 minutes ago and destroyed a civilization, but what does that *really* have to do with us? It's not like we could have stopped it.

Yes, except when I complain about something trivial I generally don't characterize the situation as being intolerable while at the same time reminding everyone "I am human"...
