"if this question has already been asked then I hope the devs do remove it asap. I did check in the search box for this, and did not find a thread like this. hopefully I did not just miss it"
putting veteran zones aside here. In your opinion, what is the "worst" zone in the game? im just curious to see what people think.

Guess it depends.. Shadowfen was long and tedious for some reason. I loved the quests there, but something about that trudge through the swamps seems to make the zone aggravating. Maybe it was because there was no clear flow to the zone.

Currently, I am running into a major block in A'likir as well. I just don't seem motivated to progress forward.

Anything in AD territory. I played them as veteran, but that's not why I dislike them. Ignoring my great distate for elves in this game and the quests that made me like them even less...

Cliffs. Cliffs everywhere. Every zone: Auridon, Greenshade, Grahtwood, Malabal Tor, Reaper's March. Cliffs right in the middle of the damn zone that I can't go over or around without having to travel across half the zone to find a useable path.

A'likir desert was my worst zone by far. very few nodes to harvest, very few lootable containers and I didn't come across a single treasure chest the whole time I was there. I'm dreading having to re-run this zone with my alts.

I couldn't agree more. While the AD zones offer some of the most beautiful landscape in the entire game, the ridiculous inclusion of cliffs and barriers that block almost everything, especially in the middle three zones, is absurd and very frustrating for travelers and explorers. It is this reason alone why I hate Grahtwood more than any other zone in the entire game. Malabal Tor isn't far behind in my most hated zones list.

Kinda lost my main char in A'likir, because I just couldn't stand all this boring sand, and dunes, and sandy storms, and, oh, more sand... She is still standing there on some lousy dune, waiting for me to come back. Leveled one of my twinks instead, which is now my main. And now, precisely today, he needs to enter this damn zone too...ugh

I had the cliff problem in reapers march yesterday. I had to go to some arena in the middle of the map, and the way I first took, was blocked by a cliff. and I had to go around the entire arena, before deciding to just port to the nearest wayshrine. the cliffs in the AD zones are definitely annoying.

They need to add climbing gear that you can find/craft that allows you to climb over those rediculous impassable mountains and cliffs.

I have not found a zone I really dislike, they all have good points and bad points. Alikir at first was not fun until I got into the story for that zone, then I started to enjoy it.

I still have the EC zones to play through so there might be something there that irks me.

As for the Cliffs, after playing Skyrim, I have learned how to figure the paths going up. Getting down is easy, I have yet to completely die sliding down a cliff face.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

You have to learn your way around. Many of those cliffs are actually passable if you look.

I really like the need to look at the map to figure out how to get to someplace.

I have chars all across all of em' and they are all pretty sweet. I am pushing 2560x1600 though so my view is perhaps clearer than some.

Strange, you really hate elves. I guess they did something to you when you were young or something. I got elves, a cat, a lizard, a couple of humans and and my orc blacksmith. Love em' all. I can play from different points of view though, depending on my char.

Stonefalls is the one I hate the most... I think... mostly due to its a bad map to walk around on... well feels like it compared to alot of others... not being able to run over mountains and the likes.

Quest wise it is easy enough both in normal and vr... but the layout..

I love crocs, particularly at low level, I guess though that they might be a little like Morrowind's Cliff racers, after a while.

I disliked Rivenspire the most, it felt like a yellowing wasteland, Alik'r was better than it to me, despite the lacks.

SHADOWFENNNN! Usually it's the desert in every game but I actually really enjoyed the Alik'r Desert and Bangkorai, they've got my favourite cities (as an Imperial, even!)

I really liked shadowfen. Very swampy. most games do swamps badly. very well done ... Swamps are of course awful and full of crocs.. so appreciation may vary. I also love the rain and thunder in ESO, and there is a lot in Shadowfen.

    Definitely Shadowfen for me.

For an EP character it is hard to find materials because of the green orichalcum blending with the swamp colours and there also seemed to be less materials in general because of all of the swamps leaving little room for them.

It was dark and depressing and I didn't really engage with a lot of the quests. As others have said the crocodile swarms were annoying as well, if you moved in combat in the swamps you would usually draw in another three crocodiles from somewhere else.

Agree entirely about the tree zones and especially Grahtwood. Also, the main quest for the zone with Naemon mucked up the gamma for the whole game for a while, even when I went back to Shornhelm.

I tend to dislike all the cities that aren't Shornhelm. Too scatterly.

I really didn't like Alik'r Desert. The main quest line with all the zombies in that area just really grated on me for some reason. Sure it had pretty scenery in places, but it just didn't stick on me as a great zone.

That being said, I'm on DC and so many of the quest lines involve zombies and dreams and stuff like that. There's some genuinely pretty scenery in DC, but the quest lines could have done with a little more variety. I'm currently in Coldharbour and the scenery is a refreshing change. The Hollow City is quite lovely. The ash raining down is very pretty, and it's a nice break from the slightly generic medieval fantasy of High Rock.

As much as I love the visuals in the AD zones (forests are always one of my favorites, second only to snow) I HATE how it's always raining. It seriously rains 90% of the time and it's just drab. I like variety but when it just always rains, it actually discourages me from playing.

Personally, Rivenspire and Deshaan were just annoying. In Rivenspire, I liked the parts that were more "desolate" in feeling, but that tapered away pretty quick as you traveled away from the main city. On the other hand, the environment for Deshaan, let alone having to deal with Almalexia, just felt boring to me. I did greatly enjoy Shadowfen, and now that I'm running in Alik'r, I am enjoying that zone as well.
