I like them all really and have multiple characters in each one, but when my Vet 12 heads back to Daggerfall it just feels like going home.

Quite taken with the desert environment in the Alik'r too.

Maybe its because it was the first one that I played right through I dunno, I even occasionally take a break from the higher level areas and head home for a walk about the old country so to speak and help out the lower level characters with some healing etc while their banging heads at world bosses and dolmens.

The Pact seems to be the most realistic of all the factions. They -know- they don't like each other and are actively trying to -not- kill each other. No pollyanna, wishful thinking about 'forging' the future. It's purely an alliance of convenience and there's no imagining it's otherwise. The enemy of my enemy and all that.

It's amusing when you realise the Dunmer are the cause of the hatred. The Dunmer and the Nords hate each other because they've been fighting over Solstheim for generations. The Dunmer and the Argonians hate each other because of the Dunmer enslaving the Argonians for generations. But the Argnonians and the Nords have no problem with each other at all :P

I don't think the Nord and Argonians are close, they just have no active antipathy and share a mutual distrust of the Dunmer. I still think the AD is the least cohesive of all the factions, with the DC being at least somewhat stable and EP being the least likely to simply implode under the weight of its own racial animosity.

Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

    My favorite maps:

    1- Alik'r desert
    2- Reapers march
    3- Rivenspire

Daggerfall was my first alliance, and I loved the story in there , I liked AD maps also ...grathwood its awesome when you first enter from the coast, but once you are inside you begin to hate that annoying jungle and rocky hills. Reapers mark has an excelent story, and the african landscape style was very nice.
EP has some good maps ..but didnt enjoy the history so much as the other 2 alliances. but again ...it was my 3rd veteran alliance, so maybe I was a little burn out from questing when I arrive at Stonefalls

the most recent game was skyrim where u just explored the entire map. sure its in the future from now but its gonna be nearly the same. like cmon man dont u want to see things NEW that youve never seen before? skyrim will always look and feel like skyrim. Vvardenfell would be loads more exciting. skyrim is rather bland really

I tend to agree, but as awe inspiring some of the stonefalls lava flows are I can't help but be tired of them after that zone. Red mountain Wil probably be like stonefalls x10

I really liked the DC quests, and the scenery was nice too. The first AD zone was pretty (and I expected them all to be so) but the main storyline, while I was surprised how much internal strife was involved, seemed fairly dull and "do-goody" to me. I haven't really experienced the EP side yet to feel I fairly have a voice in saying which of the three are best.

I think I like EP's artwork the most. Previously I enjoyed AD, but after playing through EP again I think it's superior. Plus EP has more weird quirky quests (like the mage's college).

You forgot Coldharbour. My favorite because it means I am almost done. Since I am NOT going to grind my way through two more faction's zones worth of easy-mode content.

though I find deshaan to be a bit boring, overall I love the pact zones more than the other two. the zones are more diverse, I liked the storylines a lot more, I liked the environments more, and I like joruun more than the other 2 leaders(though emric is still pretty cool. he is funny). the covenant zones are just outright awful. they are TERRIBLE zones. you fight a zombie apocalypse in 3 out of the 5 zones. out of the other 2, they are also not very interesting. storm haven is DREADFULLY boring. bangorai is the only zone in the covenant I actually had fun doing(probably because you are not fighting zombies the whole dang time) the dominion zones arefun, and the story lines are cool, but not very diverse zones.
for example, in the pact zones, you spend 2 of them in morrowind, one in black marsh, and 2 in skyrim. in the dominion, one in the summerset isles, and 4 in valenwood. WAY to much valenwood for me:( instead of sticking us in valenwood for most of the alliance, they could have sent us to elyswir for a zone or two.

Covenant (like the castles, landscape etc.)
Pact (dislike most areas except for Nord.)

I just came to say congrats on getting the poll bar colors to match with the alliances. So many other polls with alliance choices always mix them up Xd

DC was my favorite, Rivenspire in particularly, but the end of Bangkorai felt suitably epic. I felt chills when Septima Tharn called me out on being the vestige of coldharbour and said she'd discovered a way to kill me in Atherius. Especially because it completely surprised me that was her plan even though I was reading and trying to analyze her notes and hints throughout the lead up.

Craglorn was cooler than the lot!
EP is the worst visually, by far. 80% of the story spent in a version of Valenwood that looks absolutely nothing like Valenwood. Greenshade is described as being covered in the oldest, most ancient forests in Valenwood, and in game you see this:

    greenshade.png

If the engine isn't capable of doing forests properly (and not a single area in the game does) they just shouldn't have touched Valenwood at all and used Elsweyr instead. Disgustingly bad environment design.

Visually I thought Craglorn was the best. Fantastic mix of environments and architecture, with some really unique ruins and fantasy vistas with all the skyscraper towers and that crystal pillar thing. It does a great job of making a new zone feel alien instead of always feeling familiar even at first glance (oh look, more Ayleid ruins). Some pretty awesome dungeon designs too, often using exteriors instead of "yet another delve". Orsinium is amazing as well, and these two zones make me wish ZOS had released less zones at launch so they could have delivered more unique zones via DLC. Instead they had to reuse loads of architecture and ruins designs in locations that simply shouldn't have them, and delivered environments that often felt way too repetitive (Valenwood and High Rock probably being the biggest offenders there).

:o AD is nr.1 ? What the actual? They have the most boring questlines by far, even though they simultaniously have some of the best characters. All the AD zones are also completely walled off giving usually only two options, either go forward or go back, whereas DC and EP have mostly open zones that allow you to go whichever way you want (like previous TES games are renowned for).

I personally think DC is the most enjoyable, having some great characters, good stories and varied and interesting zones. Alik'r was the only zone which was pretty rough to go through, but the zone at least looks amazing. EP have some really nice looking zones as well, and interesting storylines, but not really that many memorable characters other than the Morag Tong chick. I think AD have zones that are far too similar in terms of looks and stories being told, with only Reaper's March really standing out.

My overall favourite zone is still Wrothgar though, but it wasn't really on the list and I'm not 100% sure it counts as DC. Craglorn is pretty good as well in terms of story and content (though no really memorable characters other than the Time-Lost Warrior), but was a lot better when it was designed for 4 players (and when it was still challenging).
