Maintenance for the week of December 16:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 16
• NA megaservers for patch maintenance – December 17, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for patch maintenance – December 17, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 17:00 UTC (12:00PM EST)
The issues on the North American megaservers have been resolved at this time. If you continue to experience difficulties at login, please restart your client. Thank you for your patience!
Why, after three months do we still have never-ending Requesting Character Load?
Seriously, why is the client programmed to sit three doing nothing waiting for a connection that never happens?
Thing is, if you kill the thing and log back in, most of the time the re-try works so clearly there's nothing wrong with the server, a packet dropped or something and the client doesn't try to recover. Often I can try loading a character on my second account into the same zone and it works fine, while my first client is sitting there.
It's not that hard, writing TCP/IP clients is easy, you don't have to let us sit 5+ mins staring at a rotating graphic.
