You go to a dye table. They're in many major towns.

They're account wide. Only one character needs to unlock them for all characters on your account to gain access to them.

Tying dyes into achievements is a seriously stupid idea. Why should you be forced to do some pvp/pve content you never wanted to do just to get an achievement to get a color? Better yet why the heck isn't it simply part of alchemy? Probably because that would actually make sense.

Because you can't make all of the people happy all of the time? Personally, I don't want to invest time in yet another trade skill just yet. But I don't have to, and will have a lot of the dyes simply by virtue of playing. I'm sure I can put a little effort in and play the game if I need an added achievement.

So are these tied into existing achievement badges you already have. So logging in on day 1 you would have immediate access to what you've earned already or do you have to go kill another 1000 daedra or whatever?

I like all the colors and there is nothing wrong with allowing a bit of color into your clothing/armor. I'd say Zos did an excellent job in offering all types of dyes connected with all types of play style. Gives everybody the best of both worlds.

Nice. Seems like most of the colors can be had by just playing the game. A few grindy or PvP-obsessive hues but mostly just stuff to be had by reaching end-game. And with account-wide unlocks no re-grinding on alts.

No garrish colors, either. A whole lot of very pretty colors. Looking forward to making my Bosmer better disappear into the foliage, my Orc not show so much blood on her robes and my Nord show more.

The 'cost' is in achievements, not gold.

@cabbage. Yes, once the system is in game, you will have access to those that match achievements already gained.
