Hey everyone, with the addition of the dye system with update 3, we have compiled a list of all the dyes on PTS with their associated achievements on eso-fashion. .

Right now it is just color squares but we are hoping to add previews on armor in the next few days.

Enjoy!

Thanks - and nice to see that the colours are mostly not too garish & that you can make a decent selection even without doing all the most convoluted achievements.

    Thanks!

Though... as I thought, most shades of gray (which will be the most wanted right after black) are tied to "hard to get" achievements... like full Vamp/WW skilllines, high PvP ranks, grindy achievements that take forever to do..

Well, but if those without achievement linked are "free" from the start, we get only 2 shades of gray by default:
Coldharbour Ash Black (why marked as "rare" if it's not tied to achievement? bug?)
    Soul Shriven Gray

    which is really poor...

though it's hard to imagine the color on armor from that, as "black" is just some medium gray, which really makes me wonder about how it will look (also, Daedric "red" is almost black).

but otherwise it looks like it's gonna suffice, I really look forward to the patch, and just hope that we'll get some fixes (fix the damned NB's stealth breaking by Poison Arrow DoT ffs!) and no new bugs!

Yeah WW/Vamp level 10 isn't remotely hard to get. And also it's ACCOUNT wide so ANY of your 8 characters that got WW or Vampire to level 10 even if you cured it months ago (all achievements are retroactive, even the ones being added in 1.3) will give your account access to those dyes.

The vamp black is for becoming a vampire. The white is for max rank vampire. Coldharbour Ash Black is tied to a Main Quest achievement along with a couple others listed without achievements. I'd wager the black is for finishing it. There's also the Thalmor Black for doing the faction questline in Grahtwood.

As someone who has said on more than one occasion that dyes are not worth the paper that they could potentially get printed on....that list managed to raise one of my eyebrows nearly 3/4 of an inch.

Not bad. Not bad at all....

Most people don't even WANT to deal with vampirism/lycantrophy.. I've had both on my first character, and lycantrophy was leveling REALLY slowly and vampirism made me go down instantly. Never got either of them above rank 6. I just hope there will be enough good colors without crap like this+craglorn+pvp.

I am amused by ZOS's idea of what is a "rare" accomplishment, versus not-that-rare-in-reality or really nuts or basically impossible.

Indomitable Adventurer - If I'm not mistaken, this is getting 1500 quests done. I've been VR 12 for quite some time and, having soloed everything but dolmens and overland bosses, have basically not done too much group dungeon content and nothing in Craglorn (but everything in Cyrodiil) I find it hard to imagine getting 1500 unless you're a hardcore PvPer who does the daily quests all the time... I got the 1000 quest achievement before I basically moved to Cyrodiil, so later I'll check how many I've completed since I did so, but it can't be that many. Really Nuts

Master Fisher - These achievements have always been broken, and as there's many that are assigned to different zones (not to mention that no one seems to know the different types of water/bait/zone combinations or how that all works, thus I label it Basically Impossible

Tamriel Beast Collector - This achievement, and everything else in the Collectibles, is Basically impossible as no collectibles have ever been looted by anyone, anywhere, unless they're keeping it really, really secret.

Iron Chef Make a Renown and a Epic Food or Drink. Complete a Renowned Provisioner, Complete Epic Provisioner - Basically Impossible, as given the chance of finding a single Legendary, let alone one of both Food and Drink categories, would require wasting so, so much time (especially now that the relog exploit has been stopped and containers are full of complete crap.

Rare Style Master - Because the chance of finding an Imperial Motif is about the same as that for the previous achievement, Basically Impossible (and wouldn't you want your paying customers doing something other than just futilely attempting to loot these?)

Master Monster Slayer - Complete all of the Slayer Achievements. Humanoid, Daedra, Dwarven, Nature, Undead - while listed as "Uncommon" this would actually take a really long time (I know, I helped someone tick off the Giants part of this Title-grab) and I've certainly not come anywhere near getting it (the killing blow must be given by your character to get credit![/i]) so I label it Really Nuts

Cyrodiil Champion - Complete all quest achievements in Cyrodiil. Bruma Adventurer, Cheydinhal Adventurer, Chorrol Adventurer, Cropsford Adventurer, Vlastarus Adventurer - despite being labeled "Rare" this Achievement is no big deal and actually takes a lot, lot less effort that the similar Achievement for any other zone. No Big Deal

I Like M’aiq - Track the movements of M’aiq the Liar across Tamriel and beyond. - This, and Lightbringer and the one about Beggars are actually Really Nuts inasmuch as, though not broken, at VR 12 and having played basically every day since pre-release my main has gotten only about 5 to 6 zones of M'aiq love, one single Lightbringer, and precisely no Beggars credits... and I've know about all three Achievements since long before release on the PTS server.

Botanist - Learn every Alchemy plant Trait. Blessed Thistle, Bugloss, Columbine, Corn Flower, Dragonthron, Emetic Russula, Entoloma, Imp Stool, Lady’s Smock, Luminous Russula, Mountain Flower, Namira’s Root, Nirnroot, Stinkhorn, Violet Coprinus, Water Hyacinth, White Cap, Wormwood - This Achievement is labeled as "Rare" but the real challenge is having enough inventory space to collect them all and then the patience to scan through all 4 traits of each mat to see whether you've gotten them all, and which are missing... and how in hell would you go about getting the last remaining few ones, when the number of possible combinations of 3 mats is exponential, verdad?

Explorer - Hilariously listed as "Common" despite the fact that some prerequisite achievements that lead up to this Title are Rare. Certainly I was rather amazed when I finally got the title, and still wander around with it in Cyrodiil like a noob. :p

Radiant Champion - You defied the will of Molag Bal in Coldharbour. Destroy the Great Shackle and end the Planemeld. End the threat of the Planemeld once and for all. Rescue the Last Ayleid Kind from the lightless Oubliette. How exactly is this "Rare"??

Tamriel Skyshard Hunter - Find all the Skyshards located throughout Tamriel. - "Rare" - This one is Basically Impossible as the Nibenay Basin Dolmen in Cyrodiil is not recognized as complete by the achievement system currently.

Bleh, some are OK. A few are blatant attacks on the ES color scheme that has served it well. I will wait to see if those are used only in small accent pieces. One of my main sources f enjoyment in this game is its stark beauty. If they switch the visuals to some kind of WoW/WS crap then I have little reason to stay. My time would be better spent replaying Morrowind through Skyrim.

Need *WHITE*. Nothing in that list is even close to off-white, never mind *WHITE*.

Need more shiny. Shiny black metal. shiny titanium white metal. shiny gunmetal grey.

Need more saturation. Bright yellow, orange, Pink!, etc. Neon colors would be awesome. More pastels would be great.

I'd pay good money for a game system that just gave us a color palette and say "have fun designing what you want".
    VR14 Templar, VR14 DK, VR8 DK, VR7 NB, VR1 Sorcerer;
    All 3 Alliances;
2 Pre-order Imperial Accounts, yes that means 16 characters on NA alone

Coldharbour Ash Black? and Thalmor Black is almost identical to Legate’s Black, and all you need to do is - You thwarted perilous Daedric schemes in Grahtwood. Save Southpoint from madness. Uncover the secrets buried in the Reliquary of Stars.

Fishing: Worms in Rivenspire on the coast... only one I can help you with there... caught 4 rare fish out of 5 pools fishing alone... I do know some people who have fishing achievements. Not sure what they used though. : /

Botanist: Not that hard... I've had it done on one character for a while now. You just have to remember which combinations didnt work. I do admit I wrote down the ones that didn't work so I woudn't forget. Also as a tip, you have some plants that are mirrors of each other. One will be +health -stam + weapon crit +armor, the other will be -health +stam -weapon crit - armor. (They don't all have matches like that, but some do, just something to look at when trying to pair up plants)

(I agree with your assessment of all the other achievements you listed)
