Love the dyes, think it's awesome, I am so sick of the boring dull poo coloured armour and also like the traders stores being added. Iam pleased with what they are adding :)

I can direct you to a million games that don't have "poo" colored armor. I'll keep my elder scrolls style in an ELDER SCROLLS GAME, thanks.

You must not have seen most armor mods.

And glass has always been kind of garish looking.

Most armor mods? Most of the popular armor mods are just as muted as the base game. Here's Immersive Armors, the most popular with 1,732,780 downloads:

I have to say that the armor dye pics are exactly what my fears are about that system. I really hope we don't have a game full of people with fluffy, bright-colored outfits after update 3 comes out.
Sadly, it is going to happen. Pink, purple, orange, its all going to be there in its immersion breaking glory.

For all you folks griping about bright colors breaking immersion, ESO is basically a fantasy Medieval world. The Medieval world was not dull, drab and dreary, with oppressing color schemes and dirty clothes. It was bright, colorful, and often times ostentatious in it's fashion sense.

    traditioninaction.org/History/A_020_Color.htm

Some of the very first mods to come out for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, were clothing mods. Fancy, colorful clothes and armor. Even in the vanilla versions, there are NPC's wearing bright red robes, or purple, or blue, even a couple in Skyrim wearing bright yellow.
Yeah, it's a bit jarring to see someone running around in bright pink, but with so many folks running around nobody wants to "blend in" and be just another guy. They want to stand out. Dyes let us do that.
So quit complaining, find a dye color that you like (or don't, cause you have that choice), and let the bright pink dude run around.

The colours are undeniably garish and tasteless in those previews. But it's still an improvement over how hideous void-armor, and legendary-gold trimmings look (everyone looks gold, blue and gold, or brown and gold after level 30. I'll be happy if I can just make armor look like steel again. :)

Tamriel is not Medieval Europe and its palette has always been somewhat muted. The objectors just want to keep the Elder Scrolls feel.

Read the rest of my post.
The objectors are complaining for the sake of complaining really. Armor dyes have been a requested feature since the beginning.
I never said Tamriel was Medieval Europe. The palette has always been somewhat muted, but the games were very colorful nonetheless. There are NPC's running around in reds, blues, purples, and not just the dull greens, blues, and browns we see in ESO.

The preview did state "we had a studio-wide contest to see who could use the new dye system to come up with the coolest (or most horrendous?) outfit".

I'm not going to be running around in bright pink, because I don't like it personally. But someone does, so why deny them the option or bother complaining about it?

EDIT: Here ya go. The forums are answering your complaints for you.
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/118632/what-do-you-think-about-new-dye-option-on-armours#latest

People want this. They want armor dyes. A lot of folks don't want cartoonish looking ones (so garish colors probably), but it's still a very positive response.

Hate the guild changes. If they want to focus guild features around 10 people

the idea is that 50 minimal for realistic guilds like one of the ones i'm in where it's active but hasn't got 50 members can have access to more.

Its just a sign of the times. Digital social media is the in-thing at the moment. 'Back in the day' the only way we would have gotten to read "The Road Ahead" statement would have been in a monthly magazine, weeks after it was actually said !

Mind... when I started playing MMO's people thought vanilla was just a flavour of ice cream !

No it wasn't. Whoever wrote that article has no idea.
For example, the colour blue was only worn by Royals because nobody else could afford it because what was needed to dye something in blue was way too expensive.

You are thinking of the bright, royal blue color. And even that color wasn't so expensive that knights couldn't use it for their colors. Blue (lighter, less vivid blue) was actually a very common color, made from woad leaves or flowers. Do some research, there's a lot of evidence behind it.

EDIT: Just a tip, that article is actually based on the work of Regine Pernoud, an accomplished and well recognized Medieval historian who studied the times her entire life. Clearly she is not the one who has no idea what they are talking about.

Ooh, they both have red and gold in them so they must be similar ! Apart from the fact the lighting, shades and overall styles are completely different. The ESO one looks far better !

New stuff looks good, but those colors will be disaster. I want colored pre sets which are not lore breaking. Not marvel heroes, mortal kombat scorpion or hello kitty running around :-( I had enough of it in APB Reloaded.
