I have to say that the armor dye pics are exactly what my fears are about that system. I really hope we don't have a game full of people with fluffy, bright-colored outfits after update 3 comes out.

So just looked it over. Like all of the proposed changes, I hope they further flesh out the guild enhancements though and give guilds like guild based buffs that are leveled up. Don't see any mention of any actual new game content though, just enhancements of what's already there. They gave us one new veteran dungeon last month, so they need to do better than that.

I really don't understand what people have against these colors, glowing neon okay that's a no no. But some pinks and green etc are awesome, see some sparks among the sometimes dull landscape, let the world feel alive.

LOT of great stuff in there that show they are listening. The noticeably absent item though was the browsing of items in your guild store to be less bulky. I have to use an add on to find what I want instead of scrolling though many pages.

As well, like commented above, while I am a big fan and eager for the armor dyes, I believe they have gone over the top a bit with some of the coloring, which will distract from being an Elder Scrolls game.

For instance this shot from Road Ahead:



This comes across as super hero outfit and better suited to that super hero MMO City of Hero's. It distinctively non-Elder Scrolls. Seeing this armor set running around, which is basically a Captain America running around in an Elder Scrolls world can be jarring for the purist of the genre. Myself, I'm just glad I will be able to tweak my armor more, will do so in a less subtle Elder Scrolls fashion and just ignore the City of Hero players running around. I imagine, as with any new implementation, tweaking will be needed.

For the most part that road ahead is filled with Juicy Goodness though!

I can just see it now, we are going to have the joker, batman, spiderman and the rest of the cast of Marvel running around Tamriel.

I am pretty sure someone from Zeni already mentioned several weeks ago that they will often post stuff on Reddit or FB first, before posting it here. It isn't a 'set plan' to do it, they just post it in one of their official locations. Big deal. If you're worried about missing something - follow them on all three. I don't think it costs anything, and in a lot of ways FB is a buttload easier on the eyes than this forum is.

That being said, a few thoughts I feel like blurting out to no one in particular....

1- I am glad that Zeni didn't wait for this until Quakecon. I kept reading about all this 'announcement' stuff at Quakecon, and hoped that they weren't going to remain quiet until then.

2- A PVP tournament at the con? Well... if Cyrodil is as bad as so many people complain about on the forum, it will be exposed in front of the crowds at Quakecon for sure, then. Eager to see how it unfolds.

3- Even though I am American on the NA server, I think it's awesome (if tardy) news to hear that the Euro server will be moved within the next month. That is very good news for our brothers and sisters across the pond.

4- Veteran changes will hopefully add some enjoyment back for VR players. I ain't even VR1 yet, but I know, from reading these forums, lots of VR players are losing (or have lost) hope. These will be interesting developments.

5- Guild changes. Look good. I still personally hope for an improvement to guild store functionality, but I am not holding my breath.

6- Class build balancing. This part seems like stuff Zeni should be doing already, without the need for a 'major update'. Maybe there will be more on this later.

7- The itemization changes coming sound very good, from the dye system to the part where they are adding in more armor appearances and some sort of way to make it easier to find complete sets in-game. Very curious about all of this.

I -sincerely- hope that dyes are not going to be level-related, or 'rarity' related. I've always considered that a serious cop-out to make the 'rare' colors the ones people want most. To me, make the gawdy/silly colors (neon, pinks, bright yellows, etc) rare, and let the browns/greens/blacks be common.

8- Combat. I do hope that they take a very long look at combat. There are times where on -my- screen I easily dodge out of an AOE, but I still take damage, even though I am -well- away from the red zone. Things like that are not game-breaking, but annoying, even if it doesn't happen often.

Dev said it was an intern contest to re-make a known superhero with the dyes. You have Iron man, Captin America, Poison Ivy, the pink archer? etc;

Absolutely sad. News here first..... book face scond or never. Not every one is unemployed with 2 monitors and face book on one.

Dye colors are way over the top imo. Pretty hideous. Here's to hoping at least half of us have better taste than those examples in the road ahead.

that picture disgusts me and I completely agree with both of you. I really hope they listen to reason because if they allow people to run around in clown suits all the sacrifices they made to keep the game "elder scrolls" would be in vain.


To kill the style of elder scrolls would literally be the end of it. I know a lot of people want this dye system and I do too but the colors need to at least be muted to keep in line with the way the games have always been.


I was one of those people versing you elder scrolls guys when the UI, minimap, and addon topics came up. I'm on your side on this one because if you don't have the style you don't have anything.

Literally the only thing separating this game from the other million mmos is the realistic, elder scrolls, muted, and gritty style. It is what has kept me here through the bugs and the mess.

I genuinely hope that the developers don't think your opinion represents the majority. The Elder Scrolls series aesthetic has been popular for over two decades. It does not need to be "updated" in order to cater to a crowd that's become accustomed to cartoonish MMO design.

All those pictures are meant to be superheroes. Which is why I'm worried. The dye system shouldn't be so garish that this is even a possibility.

Edit and no Iam not fascinated by poo, but that is what I'd describe the colours they have now as, brown and duck poo coloured which is boring to me. I think there should be options if we want nice colours people can have it, if others like brown they can have it.

Hate the guild changes. If they want to focus guild features around 10 people how about not letting guilds with less than 10 form? Oh and auto disband if you go under 10.

Sounds fair. Any less and youre not worth their time anyhow.
