Possible fix for Data Load Failure (worked for me anyways)

I kept getting kicked from the game for a "Data Load Failure." There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when and why it would happen, it just did. Sometimes an hour in between and at the height of it I got hit 13 times in 45 minutes. So what I did is as follows. Disabled all my addons to start, but was still getting the error, not as frequently but it was still happening so I searched around and found the main culprit in most cases was an older version of Java. I had Java 51 installed and the latest version is 60. So I updated it but the issue still happened. Finally I did a complete uninstall/reinstall of the new version of Java 60 and then repaired the game. I don't know why I needed to but the game would reconize the new Java until I did. Now I've played for about 3 hours with no issues and it also helped my fps and graphics lag in PvE. I don't play PvP so I don't know if this will help there. The only addons I can run without getting the error are my Sky shards and Radar mini map. Wykkid won't work, even the latest version. It will still cause it to crash along with Toolbox and Treasure Maps as well. Good luck and happy Daedra Killing to all those this helps!

It doesn't, of course. Easily verified by altogether removing java from your system and the game still works fine (data load errors and all).

OP have you ever heard of the placebo effect?

edit: ah I suppose the pop up screen could be using a java console. Still, this seems like one of those "have you turned it on?" CS answers.

I didn't know if the game utilized Java or not. I just did what customer support said to do and it worked. I'm just trying to help some people out who were getting discouraged like I was with the constant error.

I used to get this error all the time. I havent gotten the Data Load Failure in many days maybe a week when i CLOSE the launcher after i start the game.

The last week i have been closing the launcher & the last 'Data Load i Failure' that happened to me, I checked and the Launcher was running in the background. Hope this helps others.

Na I close the launcher and my java is up to date but still getting it.
