for the love of gaming, quit freaking out about a change you havent even seen or experienced yet. see what happens, if it doesnt work they will take our imput and adjust. most of the complainers werent even doing the vet zones anymore
Mama always said the fastest way to a man's heart is through his chest.
That's all MMO's, except Eve Online. CCP laughs in the general direction of whiners to nerf this or that.
... and it's not easy even there.
I and a bunch of others had to fight teeth and claws to prevent CCP from:
- introducing "gold ammo" in 2012 (see the mass riot it caused, I was one of the organizers against it
- trivializing modules beginning with putting imbecile-friendly names
and even then we lost the battle to avoid exploration being devastated to make it accessible and easy to every numbcake out there.
Basically, across the whole industry, there's an enormous pressure to make every social game into an easy mode Hello Kitty Online. The marketing departments want to grab cash from everyone even those who don't even care to try.
none of my friends quit because it was too hard they quit because it was boring and grindy the only thing they said they did like was the challenge
this will make it more boring.
Why can't people just learn to try? Why do you want to just face roll everything
I could already solo overworld bosses and dolmens... I don't even know what to think about gamers now.
Most people wanted alternative ways to level and maybe greater rewards and a better feeling of increased power. I think only the terrible players and the entitled whiners wanted things to be easier.
The disease is balance and poor rewards - and this is just a bandaid fix that will make people who want to use builds that don't work able to level but when they get to max level they will still be useless.
Cure the disease! make the rewards better balance weapon skills and classes! Don't put a stupid bandaid on the problem!
I just wish we had a companion that, if we wanted, we could summon but if we wanted to go alone, we just wouldn't summon.
With that, and tweaking monsters (like either reducing their armor pen or fixing heavy armor since that 50-ish damage difference between LA and HA is too little, and making healer mobs heal less, i mean from 5% to 100% HP in a second or two is a heal I sometimes want as a Healer), I think they would make everyone happy.
Or would cause a smaller outrage than now.

Shouldn't the basic philosophy be: work hard; get shiney things?
I get that some people feel that they have to work too hard through VR zones but isn't the fundamental problem that the shiney things (end game content, gear, skills, ...) just aren't shiney enough to justify the "grind"?
It seems to me that ZOS are trying to rebalance the equation but instead of making the prize more shiney they're instead making the route to getting to the prize easier.
Seems like short term thinking to me and doesn't bode well for the future of the game.
Veteran levels are just right, no need for a change imo, and my main is a Khajiit DW/Bow NB. I like the way most things in VR mode make you THINK about how to tackle them, instead of just being able to faceroll them unscathed. I do agree about the measly rewards though.
