Is it just me or is Cyrodiil unplayable for everyone?

I can't move for lag let alone mount an attack someone.

Is there a way around this? Up until recently I had zero problems with lag even in huge battles.

Yes, the 1.2.x patch that came out about 10 or so days ago really screwed the pooch. They released a hotfix a couple of days back in order to fix the issue but the improvement is really marginal, borderline unnoticeable.

Some people say it's the new lightning, some the healing spells FX, etc...it's still under investigation so god knows what that means considering they failed patching it once already. Hopefully they can finally nail the problem down so we can all get back to enjoying the game properly. But yeah, they have pissed off a lot of users in the process.

Ah, OK! Cheers for the reply. Was just wondering how everyone killing me was managing. I have a pretty decent set up and internet connection but alas....

This is absurd. It sometimes gets to the point where I'm relogging for 20 mins straight with nothing to show for it. Then you relog, get good fps, but it immediately goes down to 4, even in the starting areas near the quest boards. ZOS needs to fix this NOW. They are losing a lot of people due to all these issues that they won't/can't fix. "Let's focus on interior lighting instead of game breaking mechanics!" Everyone is getting tired of this and I really hope it doesn't get to the point where everyone quits before they realize how much they're killing this game.

As for causes and a way around this, some people have suggested the issue(s) might be related to how objects are loaded/stored graphically without being properly refreshed/wiped from memory, which would explain why the longer you go and the more NPCs/players and lighting effects you encounter, the worse it gets (and why relogging helps for fighting in Cyrodiil). Others swear it is something to do with sound and claim they get relief by turning off all sound in the game options. There have been many suggestions for minor work-arounds, including changes to some game files. The results are hit more miss but it can't hurt to try. Even Zenimax has some suggestions to try until the new fixit patch goes live.

In addition to FPS issues people are reporting invisible enemies (both players and mobs), missing/delayed graphics and animations, random loading screens in the middle of play, and a host of other interrelated issues. Last I read the expected attempt for a major fix isn't expected to come before Monday, after the Fourth of July weekend.

it is still bad today and still will be bad until they fix it.. which as i was told cld take weeks or even months. U better start givin your money to somewhere else.

Well, none of the work-arounds work for everyone, but I strung a few together and saw significant improvement in skirmishes and keep/outpost battles:

1. Use in-game setting to turn off all sound.
2. Use in-game setting to move the the main Graphics Quality setting to Low.
3. Just below the subset of Graphics Quality settings slid View Distance to zero.
4. Adjusted screen resolution (Windows not in-game) from 1920x1080 to 1280x960.

Edited: Added #4, which pretty much made the game run normally even through major PvP battles with lots of fireworks.

I had tried #1 and #3 individually to no effect, and I had gone down to customized medium graphics setting very close to #2 without improvement as well. It was putting them all together, and especially adding #4, that made a real difference. Again, I know none of the work-arounds help everyone, but I wanted to share.

And for ZOS reps like @HugoP who've been on top of forums aid and updates on this issue, I don't know if more info about the problem is needed at this point to properly pin down and fix the bug(s), but just in case, I hope this helps.

Yeah, I've tried lots of things that have been recommended with no improvement. The combo I mentioned, I have no idea why it helps, but I never get to that slide-show stage. After a a few flashy shiny battles with lots of players it does get slow and a bit toward choppy, but even that takes longer now. I really hope you find a good work-around and that these issues are resolved by ZOS soon.
