Has anyone more informed than me heard any discussion of implementing a DAOC realm rank system? For a large section of the DAOC playerbase, it was all the end-game that was needed. DAOC realm ranks seem to me to be relatively easy to implement, and an absolute ton of fun. This game seems well designed for it.

For the first year or two - getting to RR7 was an achievement the RPs came so much slower than the flood that you got 2+ years or so down the track when they brought out NF and Catacombs. I'm not sure the modern breed of player would put up with that now.
Don't forget DAOC had over a decade to iron out its kinks and make the game look what it looks like now. Remember the fun times like getting one shot by super powered archers, smite clerics and Mid zerks pre LA nerf? DAOC is still my favourite ever mmo, however it was pretty broken at times in its history and was by no means perfect. It took a while to get to what it is now (or at least what it was when I left). TESO has only been out what 3 months? Its got a long time to go before its had the chance to mature the way DAOC did. Give it a chance.
I still type fg Mids Emain MG sometime in chat in Cyrodil for *** and giggles though when approaching one of the gates in Cyrodil though. Always amusing to see the response.
50 Kobold SB on Iseult, 2h PA was the [snip], climbing the walls to shadow strike from the walls to the balcony and PA the those damn Animist with their freakin shrooms... Ahh the good ole days, I was also hoping ESO was gonna be alot more like DAoC
