Now go to Tamriel Foundry general forum and do the same. The Reddit and do the same.

Notice anything? None of the QQing and no apologists. Just people talking about the game. This forum is just toxic in comparison.

I do find myself reminded of the experience I had reading the SWTOR forums for the first year and a half.... QQ all over the place! I check these forums when I am at work and I see the same *** day after day.. What it comes down to is TACT, many of the people here seem to be missing it. You are paying for a service that ZOS provides you, posting constructive criticisms instead of yet another "ZOS FAIL" or "I UNSUBBED" posts would make a hell of a lot more sense... Further more your posts would likely get more attention..

Not going to lie, the negativity has definitely affected my view of the game. I was very "pro ESO" before. Not fanboy status, but sort of close. Then I started to see all of the negative posts on here and the Facebook page. At first, I used to sort of scoff and think they were just being negative for the sake of bitching. But... the more I played the game, the more I realized a lot of their points were valid.

Imagine if you hadn't bought the game yet and were trying to decide based on the crap on here. All these people saying that they just want the game to succeed really need to take a step back and actually read the forum.

if I think there is a problem with the game I report it as a bug or raise an issue in customer support and when It is acknowledged and marked for fixing. I STFU about it.
Yes we all know stamina is underpowered. So do they
Yes we all know vet zones need some work. So do they
Yes we all know there are class balance issues. So do they
    Blah blah blah.

If ZoS made a mistake it was having to put so much time and effort into sorting the bots and gold sellers out, which left them a little behind sorting these issues out. Hopefully we will see some real progress now.

Based by the way you thinking, I must ask what the hell you are doing here at the forums then? I thought "General Forum" was meant to be a place to bring up what ever you want that is game relevant? Be it praises or critisism.
By judging by your comment you are in no use for it other then bitching about other players threads or feedback then since if you do not encounter a problem in the game there is no problem, the end?

The bugs and issues are still there, and they are not new ones, they are old as the gods themselves.
Speaking about forum mentality, to me forum mentality is when self proclaimed "experts" of a game start defending it no matter what. when enough people are raising the same issues they go auto brigade and start threads like this one
    - We are right arent we? They are wrong it is no faulty game, there is no issues, the are troll horrible trolls!
    - Yeah of coarse we are right dear knight,
    - oh thank you sir. they are evil and want to destroy the game.
    - I know, dont be afraid, we will win, we knows best"

The doom sayers in this forum seem to be assuming they have the following of the greater player base. You dont. You have the following of those that, like you have not enjoyed the game and that is far from representative of everyone.

Considering that a recent poll showed that close to 25% of people on this Forum is not even subscribed, I'd say you're correct with that statement.

    Couldn't agree more.

Your point in posting the patently obvious is?

Even if forum users are just a small part of all players, they are a real representation of thoughts, ideas, attitudes and capabilities that reflect much larger player base.
Be it troll or knight, they are here, on this forum, as well as out there, among the entire ESO player base.
Saying someone is not representing a large population just because she/he uses a forum is as much true as saying someone is.

Seriously... what are you guys discussing about?
    Who has the silent majority?
Or the idiotic OP post that someone who complaints in forums isn't playing the game in this time, so the silent majority who plays isn't on his side?
If this is Monty Python, it's a good one.

If a very high percentage of posts show that people have problems with game topics it shows a silent satisfied majority? Interesting... :D

I have very little to complain about. I am happily adventuring along at my own pace. I come here for ideas, and sometimes when I am stuck on a quest and need help. It's a good mmo, I like it. I know some of you find that statement shocking. I don't give much heed to those who just come here to troll and whine.

    Same here.

I will listen when there is a genuine issue, might not agree, but I will consider the arguement, but random whining is annoying.

For example there is a poll about the racials, it's ridiculously biased, the guy obviously wants and race to get any set of racial abilities. That kind of rubbish we can do with out. THE RACIALS IN THE GAME ARE FINE AS THEY ARE.

If you enter the complaints department don't be surprised if its full of people who want to complain.
We know, believe me, and while you may have had a revelation I was seeing this exact topic 12 to 14 years ago. :)

This game will continue being a failure, mainly thanks to the people saying bad things about the ones like me saying where ZOS is having a problem. You, nor ZOS want to see it, ok, time will tell and you will see. It is that clear that this game is going bad, and it is very sad to see nobody is helping. It is better to say everything is going alright. Then, one day you will see the game is f2p and you are completely bored and continue paying for a beta game.

Mmorpgs are just not working, and ESO is just another example. Sad that they used TES name.

I always listen when someone says an aspect of a game needs improving.
The problem is what maybe an improvement for you, might be a major turn off for me, and vice versa. Or I might agree entirely.

I try to weigh up the options and honestly reply to the complaint/suggestion.

But different people have different tastes, and nobody will ever get 100% approval.

We don't know that. For all we know the numbers are above their predictions.
Only Zenimax know what their plans were but I doubt they didn't factor in a large fall off of initial subs.

On the topic of mob mentality on the forum...

One perfectly reasonable explanation for the number of trolls, flamers, nitpickers, and troublemakers that attempt to give the IMPRESSION this game is worse than it is, that numbers are falling, that it is headed to FTP, etc., is that they are actually employees of other game companies attempting to steer people away from this game (using mob psychology), potentially to help pad their own launch numbers.

I don't think it is merely coincidence that this happens to coincide with the release of several competing MMO titles of late, and as I am sure most are aware, the initial purchase of a game, which people might buy on impulse if made to feel frustrated enough by the one they have been playing, is a major way companies break even on their investments.

Hence, there is a strong financial motive for other companies to create that negative impression by infiltrating the forums and communities of competing titles, which is what I personally believe we are seeing here, along with the typical "vocal minority" of complainers, many of whom are otherwise legitimate and offer real constructive criticism (where the paid disinformation agents typically do not).

Such tactics are hardly beneath the average business when the almighty bottom line is at stake.

I don't know what MMO's you have been playing, but this launch was actually relatively smooth. I have encountered very few game breaking bugs, and the overall combat, quest, and world design are all top notch.

Perhaps you set your standards a bit high? Honestly, I am Veteran 5 now and I am still thoroughly LOVING this game.

I too am an MMO vet, of 12 years not 20, but still. Enough to say with confidence this game freaking rocks!
