when will stamina builds be viable...

After playing PvP last night the number of class skill using vr sorcs and dks makes this game and exercise in frustration for a stamina based NB.

Most have 3000 HP and I will crit around 300.
With talons, standard, crystals, disintegration I cannot complete unless they have sloth like reactions.

So unless I take light and a staff it appears for primarily a solo NB it's j just not viable.
The amount of damage I was doing was farcical. 200 was a good hit. From sneak ambush was doing around 300. The craglorn anomalies put it way beyond being achievable.

So, is 1.2 meant to partly address the stamina vs magicka imbalance? And if not is there a time frame for it, as I don't think I will waste my time trying otherwise.

NBs hit much much harder than you claim.. May I suggest finding a class mentor? A lot of good NBs can help. PM me for specific names of good pvp NBs.

Ambush is a class skill, so no matter what they do stamina builds, it won't have any affect on it. I've had ambush crits around 900, so it can hit really hard. If you are stamina-focused, the melee class abilities of the Nightblade are going to be pretty weak, and there aren't many 2h or dw abilities that hit hard. The only thing medium armor is providing them is physical crit values.

If you want to continue to be stamina-based, I would suggest that you use the bow primarily. Sneak heavy attack crit+Camouflaged Hunter crit+Reapers/Piercing Mark+weapon enchant crit = seriously dead vampries/werewolves...and that combo will hit non-vampires very hard too. I've also had Snipe's morphs hit me for upwards of 1200 hp. Alternatively, you can shift some enchants on your gear for magicka, so things like Ambush, Concealed Weapon and Impale hit a lot harder.

I will hit hard on non vr12s, but sneaking and ambush will result in 200 damage I can't determine what DMG the game allocates based on our attributes. When I die there are very rarely any NB skills listed as hitting me. Always sorcs and dks.

Yeah thanks the bow, snipe, poison arrow, heavy attack type combos give me a chance, still like the melee fights though.

I didn't realise putting magicka on gear would increase DMG, I user ambush, concealed weapon and impale but still get very low from all 3. Got 1 970 on a vr6 using impale, but most of the time my skills do no DMG. Concealed I will get 400 IF I sneak undetected.

All class skill damage is based on magicka, thus, if you want hard hitting Ambush you've got to get high magicka. I am mainly magicka based, but I've got some stam enchants just for my bow and extra sneaking.

Also, I would advise that you don't bother attacking comparable level DK's outright, especially if they have a shield. If they have a half a brain, they will likely wear you down pretty easily in melee range, unless you can keep distance on them and avoid the spell reflect. The smart ones have every tool to counter a Nightblade and it's tough. Sorcs are easy. Once you attack them, they will probably blink, and try to cast Crystal Fragments on you; dodge roll that, and ambush them again and hope for some crits. If you have a real problem with Sorcs 1v1, you can try using a shield and use Defensive Stance. I love stunning sorcs with their own Crystal Fragment.

Yes crystal fragments hit me pretty much each time for 700 or so. Defensive stance?
Vr12 sorcs are an issue for me. I never see them casting or it coming. Lag is not helpful either most times I have around 250ms latency as well.

Defensive Stance is a spell reflect that stuns the caster, using their own spell. It's hilarious to use. If you get blindsided by a sorc, you can try to break the initial stun very quickly (left and right mouse buttons together when stunned), roll dodge and spam Dark Cloak and try to get away. If you are mounted though, no matter who catches you, it's tough to win. I am VR12 and I also die very quickly to Sorcs if they catch me unaware.

when will stamina builds be viable...

When they realize that stuff like jumping, dashing, blocking, etc doesn't need to take from the stamina pool. They need a separate pool for it or else magicka will always be the better pool. Hell, even with a magicka build I use all my stamina all the time. I'm a runner. I don't like to wait before engaging after running too.

Dude the system is just kinda not designed right.

Problem is stamina based DMG is weaker as well. I don't get their design concepts at all.

Though any good sorc fires a light attack with his staff before using fragments on a target with a shield. With block up, I recieve around 100 dmg from the reflect. 100 dmg for the 300 stamina cost, great deal for me.

A good NB with a good opener (and my block down) will consistently hit my v12 sorc for over 1400 dmg.

Thanks. This is why an arena would be good, able to do tests on other players. In Pve I can do decent damage with ambush from stealth, or against lower level players in PvP. In PvP against higher levels its bollocks.
