A Lasting Winter

Hello,
I am level 25 and I have been trying to complete the quest "A Lasting Winter". The lady is supposed to be using a ring on the gargoyles to freeze them so I can kill them. She is not doing that. The gargoyles are too tough for my NB to kill. I can't bring a friend to help me either so this quest is bugged. Unless I am missing a step. If I am, then please let me know. I have watched a walkthrough video and on the video the lady is doing what she is supposed to be doing, freezing them so I can kill them.
Someone please help me, I am very frustrated not being able to complete this quest.

Cybrdroyd✭✭✭UPDATE: Finished the quest. It seems that because I remapped the E key to my RMB and vice versa, thats what was preventing me from getting the indicator to hit the E button during combat in this quest. Sorry no one responded, but if one of the devs is reading this, be aware of it.The road leads ever onward...0
