constant disconnects

After the patch today I've been disconnected from the game due to "an unknown error has occurred" every 5 - 10 minutes. This makes the game unplayable, I thought this had been fixed before but now its back!

I don't use any addons or have anything else running in the background. Anybody else experiencing this?

    I've seen other folks.

    Look in your root ESO directory (not the one in your documents). There'll be an error log there. Copypasta.

    could you paste the address or at least the name of the folder?

    No, it would be a text file. That's just a configuration one.

    Look for any files created in the Zenimax directory on the day you crashed. I think they start with developer... could be wrong.

    its not a crash, its a disconnect.

    Sometimes those 'unknown error has occurred' are client-side errors that kick you offline.

    Just look in the Zeni directory in ProgramFiles for anything that was created when you were kicked offline.

    take a look in Windows - Application logs :)

    I'm running windows 7, anybody who knows where this file or folder is supposed to be (more specifically than whats been said already) I would appreciate if you clued me in.

    so far all I've found is
    errorstring.txt
    crash-reporter-en.ini

    in the zenimax directory

    check your addons.
    if things like this happen after a patch it could well be that some addons may now be out of date and incompatible.
    disable them all to see if the problem goes away and if it does re enable them one by one to find the culprit

    I don't use addons

    as for the logs, I have 11 of them and the 2 most recent ones (when the issue started) are about 10 pages long...

    heya! Yep I have the same problem. Unknown error. have tried alot of different things with the help of eso support. nothing works. It started like three days ago as well, so after that patch probably.

    list of things ive done so far:
    repair client, 100 times
    deactivate norton antivirus
    CMD stuff as suggested in a different thread,
    updated graphics drivers
    of course troubleshooted my internet connection and modem - nothing wrong there
    deleted the eso files as someone suggested in forums
    set the fullscreen thing to 1 instead of 2 as suggested in forums

    etc etc


    I have no add ons either

    It's their fault, nothing we can do. Before some patches I never DC/Crash, after some patches I always DC/Crash, and so on. Guess you got the unlucky time patch, wait for the next lol

    Yeah might be that we have to. But judging from my contact with ESO Support so far, they haven't even accknowledged there's something wrong on their end. So why would they fix it in a patch?

    I have the same problem I would create a ticket but CS never really seems to accomplish anything
