I now play a NB - DW - Leather armor....

    Shadowknight NB build of sorts.

This seems to be the most reasonable answer to what I use now. However I did use to play straight up traditional NB, with 7pc Medium Armor and Bow, DW as my alt bar. I ran that until 1.1.2 came out and totally hosed VR zones and I could no longer solo even 2 mobs. Changed it up to a siphon/DoT/HoT/odd build that works and never looked back.

NB medium armor DW/Bow stamina build. Because I refuse to change the way I play just because the devs have broken it.

My sorc is unconventional though, he is medium armor half magicka, half stamina build, with DW and class abilities, and a resto staff as an off weapon. He is very hard to play in vet content.

Yes because the only other MMO or fantasy game existing is WoW..

WoW created the MMO classes, and only in WoW mages were in light armour, fighters in heavy and rogues in medium/stealth.

I loved the traditional Nb med dw/bow til i hit vet zones, then it's effectiveness dropped off a cliff and was run over by a truck. I still love it, it's just not nearly as effective as a staff build, which i refuse to do. lol

What, no option for DK with Medium Armor and 1H&S/Bow? What else would you play with DK? /joke

Or not, that's my VR3 main...

Alts: NB, Medium, DW/Bow (duh); Sorcerer, Light Armor, Staves (duh); Templar, Heavy, 2H only

    Light armor Resto/Destro Staff
Light Armor/Resto staff Templar. Worth noting that my build is mostly healing and crafting. So I didn't do that combination for dps purposes. I would have thought it a traditional build for a healing Templar.

Spec I levelled through the game was DK with heavy+2H, although I've recently just levelled my destro and put two light armor pieces on which now enables me to pretty much solo public dungeons in high vet areas where as with a 2H I would of had trouble taking a three pack effectively.

Weird, I read the traditional, and then somehow skipped to the Sorcerer description in unconventional. Too early in the morning. I apologize for nothing. I don't care what traditions you think exist, this is TES before anything else. Tradition is that you play however you want. In TES, a Battlemage is as traditional as a Spellsword.

I use light armor, resto staff on my ST bar (DW on my aoe bar; not destro) on my VR5 NB. IT really is that much better than DW/Bow.

Zen please don't nerf the resto staff; we all know the stam builds need some love (make a separate resource for block/dodge/sprint).

I have three that I play on a regular basis, all with medium armor, and all relying heavily on Silver Bolts:

NB, Dual Wield, Shadow and Siphoning Skills
DK, Dual Wield, Ardent Flame, Draconic Power, and Vampire Skills

Im keeping my options open to future nerfs and/or class buffs by leveling as many diff kinds of weapons and armor types, even tho as a healer templar my main weapon choice are restor/destro staffs. I did go full on heavy armor till my magicka needs forced me into 5 light, with one heavy and one medium to keep the leveling process going

I have chronic alt-itis. I have a traditional Sorc and a traditional DK. I have a robe-and-staff Templar (which is the only really viable build, but not exactly what I would consider traditional).

But I also have a Heavy Armor Sorc. Right now he's nothing more than a bank alt. If ZOS ever fixes things so he's viable, though, I'd love to give playing him a shot.

My Battlemage is working out well. A tip if you build something like this. Use only the weapon, the sorc spells rule and you need your stamina for Silver Bolts. Using both can work very well.

Well, I can't really vote since I play both traditional (nightblade in leather w/ dual daggers) and unconventional (Templar in light w/ healing staff and bow and a battlemage orc w/ heavy chest, legs, boots and light on the rest wielding a destructive staff and two-handed sword).

I'm not sure how I would fare in veteran lvls as my highest toon is lvl 27, but I'm not one of those CoD gamers who doesn't grasp how to balance offensive skills like AoE attacks with defensive ones like CCs / ultimates... I also know how to dodge, roll, and not stand in the red circle

    So far.
Currently leveling a DK, a NB, and a Sorc with traditional builds.
Once I've done those, I'll try a Templar and maybe some non-traditional builds.
