I quit trying to do the cloak -> veiled strike trick, it just doesnt work most of the times.
Its not even an NB problem to me it feels like a "lag" problem and i doubt its going to be easy to fix.

was the only reason I thought nightblade would be viable for PvP lol.. sigh.. please zenimax, don't make me roll a DK or Sorc to not be steamrolled by everyone in PVP..

Dont jump to conclusions just because you cant run an easy trick build it doesnt mean its not playable in PVP.
It needs a few fixes, for sure.

I have no problems with delays with "surprise attack" when I'm solo questing, but when I'm in a group dungeon or doing a world boss, or any other activity with multiple other players near me, it simply won't work. I have to spam the crap out of it just to finally get the ability to work before my invisibility wears off.
It may never be fixed. Been this way since the beginning of time. I only mention this because Zos keeps promising fixes for it which imo is unfair to the player. It's unfortunate but there are still plenty of other ways to build the NB class.
I do hope the devs continue to focus on NB but at this point they should just replace the unfixable stuff with things that actually work. Shelve the broken stuff and if/when they are fixed bring them back again. Or just throw them out for good.
Exactly. I just don't want to see other players (especially those just starting out) go down that road thinking it will be fixed in "the next patch".well apparently in 2 months version 1.2 comes out with a few minor fixes to us but whos to say it even fixes anything? might just get another post saying 1.3 than .4 .. I played nightblade up to lvl 13ish in beta and regretted rolling a Templar and always wanted to have a nightblade back so after my Templar got up into vet land and boring I rolled this NB and its so broken
I've been on the PTS (you guys should check it out, 1.2.x comes out next Monday) and to be honest, not that much changes at least with the 1.2.1 patch, so I would say keep your expectations low.
I want the removal of skills like Haste and Blur and get them replaced with skills that provide some kind of synergy and group utility, as we have none (no useful ones at least, the ultimate synergies are useless) from our class skills, while the other classes have them. They aren't going to do that unfortunately. Enjoy playing a caster at endgame, at least for the unforeseeable future.

NBs still need a little tweaking (no doubt) but there are plenty of very successful NBs out there who are melting faces without any problems.
What I am trying to say is:
NBs are almost at a good place and hitting harder than ever. Take a deep breath now.

We actually have awesome AoE, Sap Essence. If you are playing a caster solo questing and what not, Sap Essence with Mage Light, Impulse/Elemental ring and Siphoning Strikes allows you to take on packs of three 'relatively' easily. You can cast Sap Essence and Impulse while blocking. Sap Essence also builds a lot of ultimate and allows you to use Veil of Blades a bunch.
Unfortunately, both Sap Essence (reduced utlimate gain from critical strikes) and Siphoning Strikes (25% reduction in resource return) are nerfed in the next patch.... :'(

Had great fun in DawnBreaker EU trying to defend Arrius, although they got it on the fifth or sixth go, the flying blade & invisibilty is a nice way to pick off targets ready for the ambush finish...
I died yesterday in Cyrodiil with my mana bar at 80% when my game refused to cast Dark Cloak. Just spammed the button, nothing happened. Dead. Same old, same old. I don't see this changing any time soon.

This game out of any MMO I have played has been the most unresponsive to key hits. I have tried to do my invigorating drain ability as a vamp and in some cases hit the button 3 times and my character would do nothing.
Caused me to die in veteran content a few times.

yea man i was strictly duel weild training until i seen i couldn't AoE grind below lvl 30 at all unless i picked up a destro staff, id love to try flying blade with some crit potions and full medium armor, stacked with mark target = pure evil

Yeah, NB with blades or bow is not going to work with level grinding, although whirling blades and ember explosion can do a bit of that.
The upside is when your abilities fire you can do some nasty damage, but when they do not you are left hanging.
No denying a 'traditional' NB is hard work but if they fix the broken stuff we will both rock & the current pain will teach us to have the skills to exploit it.
SuraklinPrime wrote: »I see that but in PvP we are all about the targeted kill. Pick the right couple of targets and never dive into the middle of a huge skirmish.
When defending a castle we can be vicious with ranged from the wall, jump stabbing and dps and then various hide options to get back inside.
Same applies when the fight comes inside the walls - take out the key people and help your side.
But an NB is going to die in trade from time to time, get a good group and they will appreciate the openings you give them and res you.
