Trying to finish Brackenleaf Briar quest.

I need to access a pick-up at the end.
Scanning all over the thing produces no 'interact' except with the flame way above my head.
But my Bosmer is too short, and jumping/access/take isn't working.
Every time I jump, my Bos gets knocked backwards and out of grab range.
Jump is just a single key press, so it's not that damned complicated.
Why do I bother, anymore?
