Blantant misuse of complaint reporting

shroudeye1preub18_ESO
I was recently victimized by an individual that submitted a false complaint regarding my behavior. Is there any recourse to be taken against such individuals?

Complaints are all checked in game and on the forums when someone submits it. So if you got notified by ZOS staff then it was valid complaint against you. If it was a false complaint against you, then you would never have heard anything more on it.
  • shroudeye1preub18_ESO
so if a complaint is made and there is no evidence it is not false?

People report what they see as suspensions behavior. Weather or not the person being reported is a bot or not, is not making a false accusation. This is why Zenimax and not players suspend players or ban them.

If you got an e-mail (or whatever) about a complaint about your behavior, then there was enough evidence for ZOS staff to take the time to talk to you. If there was little/no evidence then you would of never of known a complaint was sent. I noticed you did not give a brief description of what the complaint was about.

@OP since you provide no information we have to assume that if you're aware of it ZOS took the complaint seriously.

Ah but there was no evidence AND they did inform myself of this after I inquired to what the evidence was to implicate me in any wrong doing. I was exonerated of course but it took some effort on my part to get to the facts of my case. Now let us get back to my original question: is there any recourse when a false complaint is submitted?

Uh huh. So they contacted you that a complaint was made against you that was false. They wouldn't waste the time.

Thank for the concise answer without rendering judgment on myself. This is disappointing to say the least. ESO may become a hotbed for such behaviors if something is not implemented. Not sure what I shall do if it happens again but I am certainly leaning toward letting my sub expire more and more.

I was told that I am "squeaky clean" and there was no evidence in game that I acted in violation of the UA. You deduce what you wish. They obviously did not think it was a waste of time to inform me that I did no wrong.

Hotbed of what? Accusations? Accusations means nothing unless there is a punishment. You were exonerated and thus no punishment. So the accusation against you is dismissed. If they DID punish you you could appeal it with zos.

I don't see the problem. If they did punish you and you felt wronged you want what? The government to step in? You want the some kind of external MMO governing body to appeal to?

From the sounds of it it was handled and in your favor because you didn't get banned or whatever. It sound like it was handled right so I am confused as to what more you think is appropriate. You are implying that something needs to be implemented and there is something missing. What would that be?
