Need 4 Open Inventory Slots to Set my 3rd and 4th horse active to feed?!?

What kind of crazy bug is this? I can't feed my Speedy Horse or my Armour Horse today because the game is demanding that I need 4 open "INVENTORY" slots to set them active to feed them! I HAVE FOUR OPEN INVENTORY SLOTS! But that's not the point! It shouldn't require inventory slots at all!

    empty your bags a bit - if your bags are full and you are into extra bagspace provided by a mount, you will be unable to swap mounts until you make space in your inventory.

    Your current horse is giving you extra bag space, which you filled up. This prevents you from switching the horse until you remove enough items to match your total inventory slots for the other horse.
