The problem was inside the Elder Scrolls Online folder in My Documents. I got to log in to my main character after deleting it.

I am having the same issue, however, deleting the folder did not solve the problem. Here is my thread with all of the steps I have tried.

Yep have the same problem. Doesn't matter which character or zone I try to log into. Usually I dont get past the character loading screen without getting the unknown error. Sometimes I manage to play for about a minute before I get logged off and see it tho. Have also tried a bunch of stuff the support mentioned. Repairing it and restarting my computer worked yesterday (after I had worked non stop with it for like 6 hours in the CMD, trying to get in touch with support, etc etc.

Believe it or not, my issue was solved by forcing Google Chrome to update.
If you have Chrome installed, open it up, and on the far right side of the address bar, Click on "Customize and control Google Chrome.
    Click on "about Google Chrome".
An update check will be forced automatically.
Wait for the download (be patient, it may take some time).
    Restart your Machine.

These steps, even though they *should* have no effect on the performance of ESO, are exactly the steps that solved my issue.
Maybe it is some issue with the launcher news feed or something, I don't know.
What I *do* know is: the Google Chrome update was the cause, and I'm back up and running like normal again.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Hey and thanks for your reply. I tried following your instructions, but when I get to "About Google Chrome" it checks for updates and says there are no new updates for it. Or more like: It needs no update, and theres no option to download the latest thing anyway. So I'm guessing I already have the latest Chrome installed.

    It says I have Version 35.0.1916.153 m.

Any other ideas for stuff to try?

You do indeed have the current version of Chrome, your version number matches my own.
I would suggest that you run the Game Consultant and put in a support ticket.
Here is the link to the support page re: the Game Consultant:
    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6690

Putting in a support ticket: On the page at the above link, on the right hand side, top corner, you will see an "Ask for Help" section with an "Email" button. Send a description of the issue (be as specific as possible), and a copy of the report from the Game Consultant to the Email address. Hopefully they can get you up and running.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.
