Since I got the patch today whenever i hit the play button the game does nothing. I can see the eso process start briefly in the task manager, but then it disappears. I have tried to repair as well as restart.
If this happens every patch in particular, it's probably your Antivirus software or Firewall/Program Firewall halting the game program. If you ever added ESO to the exceptions list to bypass being controlled or blocked by that kind of software you might have to do it each patch (or if you never added them perhaps you need to now).
Alternately, the patch that made fullscreen true fullscreen as opposed to borderless windowed fullscreen gave some people problems, but it seems from what you said you've been playing fine before and this is a new problem (and the patch that added the new fullscreen option was out long enough ago you'd have had problems then were that the case). Regardless, check out some of these posts and threads, one may describe what's going on well enough to give you some insight:
The first link there is an official staff post that gives general information, and the others deal with the problem that crept up with that fullscreen patch I mentioned (patch v1.1.2 from May 22).
From the sound of it, though, the way the ESO application is simply halted and disappears I'm leaning toward an anti-virus or firewall program blocking it.
