Whispering other players isn't functioning properly

Just found a new issue after the most recent patch. I can't whisper people very well. It shows up on my chat like i send them a whisper, but they are not able to see it (have tested this out with people who i can talk to In real life too)

Same thing goes with Group talk as well. anyone else having this issue?

Does your @ name have an apostrophe on it?

No, I have never had an issue messaging anyone before. But zone isn't working, whispers aren't working, group chat isn't working, and I can't hit SEND when trying to send mail either.

This has only occurred after the most recent patch, and only after a few hours of it being active. They are not on ignore, nor am I being ignored. This is a game issue, not an ignorance issue

The apostrophe thing is a known issue, I thought maybe that problem was expanding.

Try without all add-ons if any.

Make it so that pressing R pulls up the last person you sent a message to NOT the last person to send you a message. This is very annoying especially when you are trying to have a specific conversation and other people are whispering you.

I have exactly the same issue and I never used any addons. Although I can see what I was writing people can't see my whispers, can't see what I am writing in zone chat or "say" chat.

yup, same thing. It's fixed now, though. I had just shut the game off (as I am a crafter, and without any way of communicating, my job was pointless), went back on several hours later and it was working again.

Not sure what had happened.

Unfortunately the problem isn't fixed for me. People still can't see what I write in chat.

I also just realized that at the bank clerk the options for guild bank and guild store are no longer there.

@Ashtaru, there is some kind of Gamemaster/server-side "Mute" system that I've read about here on the forums and it sounds like that's what is going on with you from what you and @reptipresb16_ESO‌ have said. I can't say for sure as I've only read of it anecdotally and haven not experienced it myself, but from what I recall it sure sounds like it.

If you haven't already, put in a Customer Service request and describe your problem (and be sure to come here and post your ticket number to see if one of the forum mods can get things moving faster), perhaps you have been muted somehow or for some reason.

OH oh...that's a mute, you have been muted sir, make a ticket with CS, they wont handle this particular issue here on the forums

The funny thing is that I NEVER used chat until 2 days ago when I tried to join a trade guild and at that point of time my account was already muted. So I have absolutely no idea why some stupid auto mute may have hit me. I am really angry about this if it really is the case. The only extraordinary I did with my account was that I created and erased my toons very often until I really was satisfied with their appearance as I did in a lot of mmos before.
I already submitted a ticket with german support nr. 140609-006837 a few days ago. I hope you will solve my problem soon as I am not willing to pay for such a nonsense.

I don't care if this is a bug or simply a stupidly thinked- through tool, I am expecting this to be fixed asap and I am also expecting a refund in form of game time. But it seems that customer service is muted as well atm.

If it's bugging you so much call them. There isn't some rule out there that you have to wait on a reply to your ticket and complain on the forums about it. Take some dang initiative and get it fixed and close this thread

What do you mean by "if its bugging you so much"? Have you ever played an mmo without being able to use any social functions at all? I can't communicate with my fellow players at all, I cannot do group content, I cannot trade, I am not able to join a guild. I am an "elderly lady" and I am gaming for ages now. I have never experienced such an outraging nonsense concerning a game in my whole life. I will continue "complaining in the forum" as long as I like if YOU like it or not. And of course I am currently waiting for a call back, if thats enough "dang initiative" for you.

was the phone line too busy, or was this call back made on the internet? honestly the wait time when calling in is not bad, and is well worth the wait to talk to a real voice.

This bug can be caused by internal messages sent from the client to the server. have you been using any addons? won't fix the issue now, but at least its a possible explanation

My point was and I'm sorry if I offended was that you seem to be too passive on this as its seems to be affecting you in a large way. Dont wait for a call back if you've been waiting three days. Call them directly as it seems to be causing you much stress.

I already got my call back although the problem is not solved yet but they are working on it. I already wrote that I am not using any addons at all. It really seems to be some auto mute function gone wild.
