WTF Maintenance?! Get your Act together ZOS, im sick of these COMPLETLY random downtime's.

No announcements on forum page... just started a Vet BC run and was breezing through when A COMPETLY RANDOM 15 minute warning Came up..

we got the final boss to 50% after breezing through that Dungoen before the time was up....

WAY TO ****ING GO ZOS. YOU HAVE FINALLY MANAGED TO OUT STUPID YOURSELVES THIS TIME.

I have been on the forums for 11 hours no AND THERE WAS NEVER EVEN ONE NOTIFICATION ABOUT THIS.

As for the launcher? It bugs the game out if its left open... so no i never checked it after the last boot.

SET A ****ING TIME AND DATE AND STICK TO IT.... LEARN TO BE PROFESSIONAL WITH YOUR SERVICE AT LEAST!

I have had the browser open in background and been Windowing out of the game to look stuff up since 5:30PM or so... its 6:13am Now.

So actually its closer to 13 ISNT IT

The said there was a patch today. It's clearly in their maintenance window, the only started it two hours early. This isn't the first time they did it and you should've known to never do anything time consuming during maintenance days. Pretty much MMO 101 right there.

Their window starts at 8AM

Its 6AM... 2 hours early is not a "window", Its inconsistant...

And they flatout didnt announce it in the fourms, they didnt even add the announcement on the top of the page that it HAD ALREADY STARTED untill 2 minutes previous of this post.

I will say, regardless of it being a scheduled maintenance day, there are also scheduled maintenance times. If ZOS is going to conduct maintenance outside of those times, particularly if they know about it in advance, it would be most appropriate for them to post a message saying as much.

For those of us who play in other time-zones, having the server come down 2hrs early sort of fubared our entire evening. What is the point in posting maintenance days and times and then randomly altering those times!

Do ZoS really hate their paying clientele that much?

Combined with the empty zones, borked RNG drops in dungeons, everyone doing Craglorn, PvP dead as a door nail, etc, etc, the random maintenance times are just cream on this steaming pile of cake.

No one in our group knew it would start before the "announced Regularly Scheduled Time"

I doubt that group would have ever started if they had.

i think the OP was pointing out that the downtime is yet again not inline with what they have told us not complaining about downtime . yes maintenance is on mon but it should have not been for another 2 hours they have on several occasions told us they WILL INFORM US 24 hours before of any downtime /downtime changes

What time zone are you in? They don't have to announce it anywhere, or anytime. Go read your TOS that you AGREED TO.

Might want to go out and get some fresh air... does wonders to clear out the fog in the head.

so... don't plan on it being precise on a scheduled day
if they need more time they will take it or change things accordingly

the fact is on scheduled days - not to expect your daily gaming session to have predictable times

it's better than have them pop up and just down the system to place a patch in without notice every time they have a fix to apply

ZOS is treating this game WAY to casually...

MMOs often start the maintenance early of days they do a patch. This is so that they can get it done and address any issues before say, 5pm eastern when US folk begin to get off work and are able to play.

Of course they can never do it and never fix anything..would that be better?

Yes it is annoying when the game is not available but I would hope someone would have something else to do with their time.

edit: They post those times as "normal" maintenance times. Doing a patch is not "normal" maintenance.

For those of us living in certain time zones, starting maintenance two hours early without warning is extremely inconvenient. For me, the maintenance started at 8 pm (just as I sat down at my computer to start playing) instead of at 10 pm.

So to those posters who say starting 2 hours early is not a problem and requires no warning because it is "regular maintenance", you are wrong.

Get over it already. If they did NOT take the server down, and the game constantly crashed you would *** about that too.

ZOS is treating this game like a business... as it should be treated.

Very, very few of the MMOs I've played for any length of time over the years (AOC, STO, LOTRO, SWTOR, and yes, even the dreaded WOW) have regularly conducted maintenance outside their stated time windows. When they did, they usually let the player base know. ZOS, unfortunately, is developing a bit of a track record for having poor communication with their subscribers about these sorts of things. When folks know what to expect, or at least know why something happened if it's unexpected, they tend to be a bit less upset about it.
