How do you register for the forums?

Might seem like a silly question, but hear me out.

This is my pre-order account - I got sent a code for the forums that I've just reedemed. I have another account that wasn't pre-order, and I wasn't sent this code.

A quick peek around the net throws up the fact that nobody who bought the game on release or after gets these codes. An oversight? If not, that's staggering.

I'm pretty sure you have to be invited to the forums. You get an invitation by participating in a beta or registering a purchased retail box or digital download of the game.

    Hello @zzz,

Shortly after players have created their ESO game account, they will receive an e-mail from community@elderscrollsonline.com inviting them to activate their forum account. Clicking the activation link contained in the e-mail will open a window prompting players to select a forum username and password. It is up to each player whether they want their login information for the forums to be the same as their login information for the game.

If you have purchased the game and have an active subscription, but do not yet have access to the forums, they should contact Customer Support.

Thanks for clearing that up, ZOS_Pierrel. I'm good, because I've got two accounts and one of them has access, but I know lots of people have been wondering about this (they just don't have forum access to ask =p)

    Take care.

I didn't got my invitation code after buying the game too, because I've got them for the Beta-Weekends (but never registered to the forums). Sadly the login stats for the beta-forums didn't work for the live forums and I had to contact customer support with the issue. The solved it after a few weeks.

I had issues trying to get my forum account running. When you try to register it asks you for an invitation code. However, it doesn't say anything else about this code. Where it comes from. Where you can find it. Who gives these invitations. By the time I had gone back and forth with customer service, my invitation had actually expired and they had to manually make a forum account for me.

Not only is this a tremendous amount of hoops to jump through for forum access, but it must be a horrible strain on the customer service department. I'd like to think I'm not the only one that had this issue. I would have come to the forums to ask how others registered on the forums, but catch 22 and all that. It was very frustrating not knowing how to get my "invitation" which ended up being a code associated with my game purchase. Had they simply defined "invitation" during the registration process, this could have been avoided.

My beta login worked just fine.

Beta forum login and beta game logins worked. Had to have an active game, but I didn't have to change anything. Got an employee to change my forum name though.
