    Stopped when he said "fanboy."

I literally can't take anyone who uses that word unironically even a little bit seriously.

Too bad. you are missing a good review.

You should try to not let certain words bother you so much. :)

He's not a professional reviewer. As a matter of fact, it is shoddycast. Shoddy, get it? :)

Words and term use evolve, but to each their own.
Also, I read 'unironically' as 'unicorn-ally' ... I like my version better.

    Just thought i'd share

Josh from shoddycast has some strange hate against this game. It is weird. He spent a year following it on the shoddycast and then played it for something less than two weeks. I don't take his words too seriously.

He played the game for over a year. He does not have hate for the game. He has frustration for the final product.

I think he was a fanboi at one time, which is what makes him so bitter now.

He was clearly using it ironically!
    Or are you being ironic?

I watched the first half of the video and I will admit this review seemed to have a much better perspective and was far more fair than some of the others I have seen (such as that Angry Joe nonsense that was popular on these forums while back).

I would disagree with it strongly though on his criticisms relating to exploration and questing. Though I should point out I have never played any of the other previous Elder Scrolls games. So it's possible the reason I feel this way is because I was never spoiled in this regard by those games.

But when compared to other MMORPGs - this game is miles above the other games out there when it comes to offering interesting quests and open-ended exploration.

Good review and it somehow shows how ZoS approach towards the game can frustrate even the biggest fans and early supporters... :(

    Wake up guys!

Yes, but if you had watched a bit further, you would have seen him say that it was good it terms of MMOs, just not in terms of TES games.

The problem is that this is both an MMO and a TES game, and previous TES games have been blooming marvelous.

Perhaps I misunderstood him. But I thought he referred to the questing/exploration on ESO as average when compared to other MMORPGs. And that's where I disagreed with him. Because I think ESO is far superior to other MMORPGs in this respect.

As far as how it measures up to previous Elder Scroll games, I can't say. I never played those games so he could have valid points about that. I just don't know.

What a stupid review, he indeed wanted skyrim online.. and not a MMO.. Its more of a MMO then it is rly like the singleplayer ( co-op ) He has already a wrong view to look at this game to start with..

Kind of honest and all reviews seems to decide on a score of 5-6. It's truthful and well deserved. One thing in this review is that it doesn't bothered with the balance of classes. I.e. It seems as though he hasnt played trials or the review is old.

I agree, he did start as a famboi simply looking for the next TES game, but I did not and I still agree with most of his review.

This game could have had an real open world to explore.

This game could have had a bunch of caves and secret areas to find.

This game could have had underwater swimming and things to find under the water, like secret dungeons or lost treasure.

I personally feel the game should have launched with at minimum a basic legal system. I can't think of another MMO that has this missing.

Is this a good MMO? Well, that depends of what features you like and don't like. I like the combat system. I think it is the best for an MMO I have seen, except for maybe DDO.

On the other hand, the tiny bank system with lack of any user friendly tools, the lack of guild permissions, the lack of detailed descriptions, the lack of a real open world, the horrid grouping system, and much much more really holds this game back from being great, IMHO.
