What happens: After you pay the innkeeper your nightly fee for the bed use, you get a temporary quest with a 15 minute timer, it's goal is to use the bed. After you use it, it begins logging you out. Once you are logged out, a second timer starts. If you remained logged out for at least 6 hours (instead of 6 hours passing ingame like in Skyrim) you receive a well rested buff. Perhaps 10% increase to Health, Stamina, Magicka and Exp gain? (able to be changed/adjusted for balance) And that buff only lasts one hours time.

I usually try to park my Characters in my house anyway, and logging out by using a bed actually sounds like a neat idea, and getting a well rested buff to your character when you log on the next day is just a cherry on top. I would've settled for a bed being the log out mechanic.

    I'd definitely be behind this.

Little things like this just adds more character to a game. I like.

While we are at it, how about drinking / card games in at the Pubs?
In houses it should be more interaction, use an glass and your character do an drink emote Same with food and beds.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The necro is strong on this one.

That said, I also miss the sleeping in bed mechanic of the original elder scrolls games. I can craft all sorts of different beds for my various ESO houses, but I can’t sleep in any of them. Even the “lie down” emote usually leaves my character spread sideways or upside down or half off the bed.

I want to be able to log out by sleeping in a bed. Which would be the only logical reason for me in a real time love game. However, I can see how people would RP this too.

So here is how it would work:

    1. Activate bed, choose Sleep or Cancel
    2. If you Choose sleep, character lays down in bed
    3. From there, you can log out or just lay there. But if you chose Log Out, your character stays in the bed.
    4. When you log back in, your character is still in the bed, and you wake up when you go to.move them. It would be great if a Yawn and Stretch Emote happened.
    5. Normal inactivity rules apply, only you come back to sleeping character after time out and log out.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

And you can't even get onto the four-poster beds.

I tried sleeping on a hammock once but I was clipping through it bad. Lol

Anyway, I was so disappointed to find out that beds were just static objects. I'd love to be able to log out through them and get a rested bonus when I log back in.

This would be awesome for my immersions. Any non-combat buff would be nice such as XP or more gold gained. Vampires should get a slight buff after sleeping imo, take 2% less fire damage LMAO
