Sleeping in beds

The title gives the jist of it. Basically, in the other Elder Scrolls games, we could use beds in inns (that we /sometimes/ paid for) or the bed in our player homes. I ask, Why can't we do this in ESO? There's plenty of inns available, and I heard that player housing is coming eventually.

What happens: After you pay the innkeeper your nightly fee for the bed use, you get a temporary quest with a 15 minute timer, it's goal is to use the bed. After you use it, it begins logging you out. Once you are logged out, a second timer starts. If you remained logged out for at least 6 hours (instead of 6 hours passing ingame like in Skyrim) you receive a well rested buff. Perhaps 10% increase to Health, Stamina, Magicka and Exp gain? (able to be changed/adjusted for balance) And that buff only lasts one hours time.

Not only would this serve as another viable gold sink ingame, (make the bed inns maybe cost 500g a use?) But it would help to give that thing that's missing from the immersion of the world of Tamriel, not to mention it's in virtually every other game I can think of in some way.

TL;DR: Use a bed you're allowed to use, and get a buff!

Thoughts anyone?

Little things like this just adds more character to a game. I like.

While we are at it, how about drinking / card games in at the Pubs?

Im interested, I would think that the cost should be based on actual level. It would be, should I log off where I am standing, next to my next quest or at the inn? Could also sell expensive sleeping bags that give half bonus, but you can ise it in the field.

I am wanting more non xp based gaming like mini games, racing or gambling or arm wrestling or something. :)

And where are all the children? Seems like no one has sex in Tamriel. Or they have some other way of reproduction where people are born at age 20.

What about coffins for us vampires? I mean, fangs, pale skin and red eyes are nice, but not sunlight. Never sunlight. So, yes, coffins for vampires, please. ;)

Please, take the petty troll attempt to another forum. This isn't anything game breaking, and it's fully immersive to the Tamrielic world. Hell, there doesn't even NEED to be a buff, I just would like some more immersion.

Reminds me of the times I used to /camp out inside Inns when I played WoW 4+ years ago.

Until... one day I logged out/in at the Goldshire Inn... What I woke up to was something you would find in an Adult Anime ep.

I think I remember in beta they said due to EU rules about having children in games was the reason they have not added them (MMO and interactions). If they have children nothing can happen to them or they would have to get a higher age rating...

Well, they already did that for the cats, so I don't see why it would matter if children are invincible. They wouldn't even have to talk. Just program some kids running around the towns to make it seem more real.

Yeah, those immortal kids in Skyrim were kind of stupid. Kite a dragon through town, the only ones left standing are little kids (unless you got that mod.) I'm glad I don't have to see the buggers in ESO - I got the kid-killer mod just to off those two brats at the Whiterun palace. Servant, indeed.

Kids are like kittens, only the charm and cute wear off a lot quicker and more dramatically.

Anyway, kids aren't critters, and probably wouldn't need special tags; can't target-shoot friendly NPCs in town - just keep kids out of quest areas and don't let them appear until things are phased back to peacefulness.

Anyway, yeah, I was surprised to see there was no Bed (E) Use button, it was one of the first things I tried to do in beta.

I miss being able to sit on the benches in the pubs and inns. Would be nice if you could also do /eat or /drink while seated.

Yes, you should be allowed to sit on a bench or available chair. I wonder if that is what the 1.2 patch notes implied by being able to interact with environment more.

You can Already Emote yourself into a sleeping pose and any bed without a canopy can be slept on like that,

the idea of renting a room to sleep in tho kind of doesnt work in a MMO. you cant have any addtional time pass without affecting everyone else in the server.

The ability to interact with chairs and benches and of course beds could be done easily tho, just there is no chance of "sleeping the night away" in a MMO.

I expect Enviroment interaction like this to be part of Player Housing when it is eventually added, hopefully before. i have to agree that INNs are kind of pointless scenery save for the Undaunted drink achievement.

one way they could make it possible to sit on any chair is make a second version of /sitchair that doesnt render a chair, this would let you "Sit" on anything without having to create Interactables everywhere..

actually.. i really like that last bit..... would really be nice.

The point was as a log out mechanic, if you're done playing for the day, and you rent a bed, you get a buff when you log back in after 6+ hours of real time. It can totally work IMO, time on the server does not need to change at all.

I was totally about to tell you that sleeping wouldn't be possible because you can't have time changing for everyone when someone sleeps. Then I read your comment and I actually agree with you.

The Lizard people are born into their adult stage. Then they eat all the other people's kids while exuding a pheromone to make everyone else forget they had children.

IMHO, not very important in the overall scheme of things. I hope Zenimax prioritise this petition downwards accordingly since there are many more game affecting things to address (class balance, rollbacks, PvP lag, inventory space, etc) than this relatively unimportant request.

Yes. This is the idea that I had! Log out via your bed for a rested bonus.

beds in ESO very useless, but you sleep on there with "sleep emote"
History, like a human being, is thirsty when it wakes from its slumber…History wants to drink up an enormous amount of blood. And even if history has tired of drinking blood, that’s only in regards to the amount. But what about quality? The larger the sacrifice is, the more delighted the cruel gods will be.
