So just wondering if anyone has seen anything higher than a level 45 purple recipie. If so, why the hell is food so freaking rare? Absolutely the most stupid thing I have seen. I can loot daedric motifs day after rday, but not decent food recipies. Zos, fix the damage on your stupid VR content, or give us some decent food recipies to craft. End of rant................Any purple level recipe after level 35 being so rare is absolutely stupid. Can't even get one guild person out of five giulds that I am a member of who has a purple vet recipe to craft. Fix this..............It's nothing but BS. Please full time beta testers and all who is glorious OP bashers, nukers. hackers and sploiters that has acquired everything in the game so far, do not comment on POST. It does not pertain to you.......

This thread goes all over the place.

Anyway, purple recipies are purple for a reason. Motifs are blue. Blue != Purple in rarity. Basic MMO logic.

Never seen a purple VR5 provisioning and have been searching vet areas for at least a month with 3 toons. Of course the other issue is the ingredients are still at the original level (ie non-vet) in most cases, so even if you found a recipe chances are you wouldn't be able to make many pots

Unfortunately the purple recipes that are out there all stink. The values you get for making any of the consummate recipes are so much lower than the blue recipes as to make them nigh useless. I'd rather have 2 values boosted to 312 than 3 to 180. The recipes need to be fixed, as much as more alchemical ingredients (and poisons) are needed.

Seems that provisioning and alchemy are the lesser step-sisters to the others.

They do exist. To give you an idea of how rare they are, someone told me last night that they sell for 90,000 to 400,000 gold

I am a horder I search everything. I have been playing since early access and the only purple or higher recipes i've found or seen have been in chat spam.

This is a purple recipe that boosts 3 stats to 250+ something ( dont remember exact number). So it's better then 312 for 2.

why the heck do you want that? In the end it needs tomatos to craft which you can´t get ingame (only hirelings).. so you are stuck with a nearly worthless recipe..

would sell it anytime if I would find one

I have tons on lvl 2-3 mats, but no recipes to use them. I must have 50 tomato's, but won't sell because I have provisioning maxed with nothing in alchemy. I refuse to pay 400k for anything in this game (only have 30k so can't really afford it).

The hell? Where are you finding motifs? I play multiple hours a day, loot every container I find, and haven't even found a standard motif since the end of April. I've found a total of 1 purple recipe the entire time I've played.

To reiterate something people might forget:

Purple is the rarest of items in the game you can possibly find. This is sometimes forgotten when people farm bosses and Dungeons for purple weapons, which the rates are much higher for than say any random motif or recipe off a lootable enemy or container.

I honestly think provisioning needs to be revamped. There need to be "basic" recipes known by everyone (kind of like how blacksmithing/clothing/woodworking work). I'm fine with the more "rare" recipes like blue and purple ones having to be found.

And I would like for ingredients for basic recipes to be much more readily available. Save the hunting through dressers and barrels for the rare ingredients.

You shouldn't have to go hunting for basic recipes just to level provisioning. Hunting for rare recipes/items for much more powerful recipes? Sure, that's fine. But basic stuff needs to be much more available.

Regarding level 36-VR6 purple prov recipes... Never have looted one, never have seen one for sale, but the end product (as has been pointed out) is sub-par, currently.

Half of every green recipe can be purchased from grocer or brewer NPC's. 1/3 of every blue recipe can be purchased from grocer or brewer NPC's. Obtaining the non-improve mats is a matter of minutes, for every blue/green prov recipe, currently.

Yeah, saw someone advertising a purple VR5 Sweetroll recipe in chat today, so they do exist. First one I have seen.

Whilst it's a pain, the progression of crafting professions varies.
Blacksmithing/Clothing/Woodworking - Levelling is pretty easy, but mastering traits takes months of elapsed time.
Enchanting - Levelling is very slow, but nothing else needed.
Provisioning - Trivial to level, but collecting the recipes takes ages or a lot of money.
Alchemy - (I'm not sure, not really done it)

Alchemy is not difficult to level. In fact XP is pretty much the same as provisioning. The hard part is getting enough of the quality ingredients that all the bots are stealing. Have spent several days this week trying to get ingredients all over, and the bots are terrible porting underground taking everything right from under your nose when you try to harvest it.

Ok, Alchemy challenge is getting materials, then. Certainly it's not as easy as Provisioning (which I levelled from 7 to 50 in two 2 hour material gathering sessions, though I had got lots of recipes previously, and was veteran level when I did it).

People are selling purple recipes for 500k (or trying to) in veteran zone chat. Talk about an example of gold selling ruining the economy.

Go to the VR1 and VR6 starter islands to gather alchemy ingredients, if possible. There are no bots in those zones. The alchemy reagents are abundant as they are seldom harvested. Also, the mobs are spaced far apart and fewer in number than the other VR zones.

well given that how ridiculously rare they are 400k isn't too much really. i spent well over 40 or 50 hours farming nightstands, drawers and whatever other container recipes can be in. i haven't found a single purple recipe. that you can only find a recipe every 10 minutes doesn't help with this.

I had a whole bunch of these because of the bug at launch (where they were showing up in very low level zones). I had no bank space... so I deleted them thinking "wow they are not that hard to get, so I'll get them again later."

That'll learn me. Still no VR 5 purples at VR7. ha ha ha

Yeah, I figured this out yesterday after starting VR6 on DC side starter zone. Was really empty and able to harvest quite a bit.... :)
