I'm zoning and have a hard crash. The auto crash report form comes up and I fill that out. No problem. These things happen from time to time. When I try to sign back in though I get nothing but the dreaded 301 error. I waited and tried again. And again. And again. You get the picture. I restarted my machine. Ran error checking. Nada. I ran the launcher's game consultant. It shows that each time I try to log it it fails at unable to load skin. So obviously this isn't a full lobby issue. Nothing to do but uninstall the client and download it again.

Not exactly what I had planned for a Sunday afternoon but it is what it is. Just one thing chaps my shorts: the download speed. Y'all got skeevers in the works? Someone forget to feed the guar? Some Daedra queen siphoning off your power to energize her personal fulfillment device? I am looking at less than 3.0 mB/s. 2.92 mB//s ATM to be precise. Even with a Chrome browser running with several dozen open tabs as well as the game downloader I am still getting 19.18 mB/s. This molasses treatment isn't the fault of either my machine or my Internet connection. Disabling both anti virus and firewall had no effect either. Boosting your server download speed would be a big help to both existing and new customers.

Guess I'll go do some grocery shopping. I am still just up to 15%. :(

    Update. Calvin from Customer Support spent quite a bit of phone time with me trying to resolve the issue. Nice guy. No go though. He is now forwarding the ticket to tech support. i had run ZOS' "game consultant" program earlier in the day and sent that to them. It clearly shows where some of the problems are:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 31ms, Maximum = 32ms, Average = 31ms

    Hopefully this and the many other pages of technical info I sent will help them solve this issue. It also may help each of you to run game consultant as well.

    Oh, happy day! The patch fixed my log in problems. I hope that everyone else is able to get in today as well. Many thanks to Calvin in CS and Charles in tech support. Mugs of Worm's Blood Ale are on me tonight!
