What kind of genius company take an RPGMMO off line for maintenance at 8am Saturday morning or 10pm Australian time, which is prime gaming time, regardless whether it is supposed to be a 'short maintenance'!

Please don't flame them. 8am is before most people are awake on a saturday and if its 10pm where you live you probly belong on the EU mega server. Just saying. Australia is not in the North American continent, at least that's what my world map says.

I'd agree, it's a pretty crappy day to take things offline (as in, it's probably the worst possible choice of days). Hopefully it's at least as "short" as they're saying.

Unless he has not gotten far into the game, not as if he can just start over on EU servers anyway. Besides, if NA servers are closer than EU, I can understand.

I would prefer this game be down for maintenance than up and running with serious bugs and issues that need immediate attention.

yeah after the bugs have been around for weeks.suddenly zenimax think the fixes are SOOO impt that they have to bring down on Sat.

Saturday Morning is my big day to play, and taking it off line blows. Unless this was truly an emergency it could wait to a weekday. Maintenance 3x a week is silly I pay for full day play, I don't mind a few hours of Maintenance but if it is > 8 hours per week we should have a day added to our subs.

I think what is happening is Wildstar is completely flopping right now as I type and ESO is getting a larger than normal influx of players so ZOS has to do some backend work real quick to make sure everyone can enjoy ESO.

My understanding is that the Australian fibre optic cables to the USA are far superior to the ones going to Europe in terms of speed and reliability. I saw a good map of them once so if anyone really cares I am sure they could google it.

I also understood that the Europe servers were currently still in North America and would be moved sometime. I could be wrong.

Wait fixing bugs requires patching right? Was there even a patch? I have not had an update on either servers.

And yes, I am noting a lot of insular comments. What I suspect this is really about is, the Oceanic users feeling they getting put out again. I do acknowledge it must be annoying.

And in any case, weekend server maintenance of any kind is going to raise eyebrows.

they have had almost a week to fix the bugs since the last patch and decide to do it on a weekend not the smartest move, also in Australia we get better ping on north america server

HAha, yes I'm sure they had you in mind and really hated the idea of shutting you down.

I think the 3am thing on a weekend would make a lot more folks angry. I know a lot of players who play from 9pm (well sometime in the evening) until 3/4 am on weekends. Many times I have woke (4am) and game to catch the last groups of the "all night" crowd...they tend to sizzle out around 4/5 am....ah the good ol'days...

Where are Australasian players supposed to play, in your esteemed view? Especially given that both the NA and the EU servers are in the same place at the moment, they haven't even had a chance to see which server gives better ping. Even EU players don't currently have a server located in Europe. Just giving some consideration to others before putting your hands on your keyboard would be a really nice idea

Everytime they bring down the servers during Australian peak hours they should give Australian players 1 day free. They have our billing information. They know who we are.

Well the people who stay up until 3 or 4 probably would benefit from the game going down at that time. I think 5 or 6 AM would be the ideal time to do maintenance in the US (which would... I guess be extremely unfair to our Aussie brethren, but you're getting screwed either way).

I just always get worried that they are going to apply a "fix" during these maintenance times and never inform anyone of what they did exactly.....but .....who doesn't like stumbling upon a new class mechanic when they log in Saturday morning??!!
