I have to admit that ESO is the first MMO for me in which I care about NPCs. And for this alone the world feels so much more alive.

As a character traveling through Tamriel, my actions not only influence (or ultimately save) the world, but more importantly, my decisions influence the lives of the people who live in this world, and for this, I get recognized. Most of the time, NPCs are not random one-dimensional, one-off quest-givers; almost always they have a reason for being where they are, and almost always there's a backstory, and I'm rewarded for listening to them.

I put it down to excellent writing, voice-acting, and story-telling. And being able to choose.

An example: in another MMO, there are the important figureheads, or the iconic faction leaders, kings and queens and wizards, and if you care about lore, you might know their background from other sources within the same IP. They are the giants on whom the story revolves and evolves about. There are several quest lines where you have to interact with them at different points in the timeline. Maybe you get told a little bit of personal background, maybe you get to know them better over time, but they do not recognize you in return, they know nothing about your history since you last met. You're just another random hero among countless others. You are a tool for them.

In ESO, you can meet people bragging to others that they knew you back then, when you barely knew which end of the sword to poke into enemies. And look at what has become of you! They have developing stories of their own, giving them depth, and you know that they are where they are now, partly because you've helped them back then. Or not. They might have forgiven you, or they might still hold a grudge. And they let you know about it.

This is one of my favorite things in ESO.

I need to name 3 things.

    1. First LORE. Its interested in everything. Must been years of work and one hell of a project.

    2. Most I like about ESO is the freedome of doing what the heck you want, nothing is wrong or right.

    3. The players have ALL the power over the whole game. Type of guilds, economy, who to group with or not. Builds. Everything is player based.

I enjoy the level of detail in the game considering its genre. Everything from the landscape pictures on the walls to the minor imperfections in the environment (ie windows broken and shingles missing on roofs) to the weather system. Zeni really goes above and beyond in this department and I hope they continue to do so in the future.

I liked that I managed to get two Nightblades to veteran before taking my DK to veteran and realizing how screwed up this game really is. If I had done the DK first I think I'd have missed all the good stuff.

We have enough posts talking about what's wrong with the game, or what people don't like but what are some things people actually enjoy about the game?

I personally love questing, so I enjoy all the storylines that unravel from zone to zone. The fact that tanking is more of a challenge in dungeons. You have to actually roll to dodge, actually block and then use weapon abilities and spells. As opposed to just spamming the same old combo of buttons.

Those are just two of things I enjoy, how about you?

The best thing about this game IMHO is it attempts to break away from modern trends and return to more traditional RPG elements. Such as an emphasis on questing/exploration and complex choice-driven character development.

THIS is exactly what keeps me here as well. I love the fact that finally we have a game that breaks the new mold. The classics never go out of style. Bravo!

I love the scenery and the music, and the quests are decent.
Also those moments where even if you are not grouped you take out a Dark Anchor or world boss with other random people and afterwards everyone is going "good job", or "awesome fight" in /say, seems like a small thing but reminds me that there can actually be a decent community in game.

Exploring. And then being surprised by what I discover. I love seeing the wisps of light from crafting elements when you put skills into Keen Eye(?) or whatever it's called. Working a dungeon with other players, and even though we're not grouped we all help one another beat the enemies. Grouping with people from your guild or just picked up from the zone, and struggling through an instanced dungeon and not giving up even though we get wiped over and over. And then making friends when we triumph and complete the dungeon.
In short, I love everything about the game. I hope it goes on and on.

I love the flexible class design and, most importantly, the gameplay. The music and graphics are bonuses. Character progression, however, is so bad that only the hardcore solo quester would find it fun. I was a sad panda to unsub, but I don't play an MMO for its single player content.

The PvP is tons of fun, but you need to be able to quest up in level to really enjoy it. My level 20 got 1 shotted by a max level vet the other day; kinda takes the steam out of wanting to PvP to advance your character.

I've had a ton of fun in PvP at level 20 with a good fun guild where we all looked out for each other, I'm just sorry you have not had that same experience. Of course I occasionally got 1 shotted because I was level 20 (and sometimes for enemy players that makes you the first target, because they can deal with you quickly), but mostly if I stayed with the group it was great fun and I only died a few times, and occasionally took out a player much higher level with the support of my guildmates.

EDIT to add (at least if I'm lvl 20 and a VR12 1-shots me it's no slight on my abilities :D )

So far I would say the quality of the terrain is decent. I also like how the female characters actually look female in this game. They did a pretty good job with the graphics, and combined the lore of TES with the MMO genre. While I do not like all of the decisions that were made, I am enjoying this game as much as I enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim. Although I have not yet put the hundreds of hours into this game as I did in those, I have high hopes from what I've already seen.

My favorite moment was a few night ago in Cryodiil watching that one templar, and I'd say he was using some sort of Hack but don't know for 100% sure, Mutilating 4-7 of the Summoned Mages with two abilities and then watched him destroy a VR7 DK and his Sorc VR10 friend with the same two abilities I was OMG A MELEE TOON killing staff users

    Favorite moment so far

I think this is the main thing that makes players like the game, or not like the game. Everyone is not interested in the same thing, I get that.

But way to many complaints are about ESO dont have this and that feature from other MMOs.

LOVE this thread. Lets have more discussions in this manner. Good and bad feedback of course.

I'd like to add another point why I like this game so much.

IT seams the more I play, the more I see I have to learn. I dont think I ever will learn everything. Always something new/different in several sections. Lately its been fighting for me where I am improving, but even if I got better, I see "more" how I can improve.
