Really, it's the one recipe that actually makes my stomach turn.Knootewoot wrote: »Well, if you let worms a day in the water they are pretty clean. Then cook 'm up and grill 'm. Thats how we did it at the boyscouts. We even made pancakes with grilled worms in it.
Heck, i even ate them alive just to frighten class mates.
Really man, it's not that big of a deal.
Acording to one of the Quetlines in Grathwood, Bosmer are allowed to use plant parts that have already fallen off - from natural causes, or caused by others (invaders, animals). They will still try to "defend" the plants, however.AlexDougherty wrote: »I can get my head around Rothmead and Meat Muscat being Bosmer recipes, but they shouldn't have non-meat ingredients (because of the Green Pact). The chineses eat locsuts. Among other insects. They are high in protein and low in fat. Pretty healty actually.AlexDougherty wrote: »But Grilled Worms, you would have to be nearly dead from starvation before you could look at a bowl of worms and say "I know, I'll grill these, hmmmmm". Ok, that makes sense, and explains how they can be archers too. And the Great Brittains have...wierd stuff they eat (haegis, fried snickers). Granted it is fully normal stuff for them.
Locusts I can get behind, even after seeing the episode of QI were Stephen Fry choked on a chocolate covered ant.The chineses eat locsuts. Among other insects. They are high in protein and low in fat. Pretty healty actually.
Um, no actually, I don't even think I've ever see it.isengrimb16_ESO wrote: »I guess someone never read "How to Eat Fried Worms" as a kid.
Not come across Maggot Haggis yet, something to look forward to.Maggot haggis.... :P
and the ingredient 'wasp squeezings'... ugh!
Yeah, Ive come across them, they don't look nice, but a rats toe pie could work, just marinate them first. One day we could all be eating bugs in RL....
The one ingredient (apart from the worms... ) that's turns my stomach, is the plump rats toes (or something...) sounds like it SHOULD be a delicacy! lol....
Yeah, not sure what it is either.Wisp floss always weirds me out.
Oh joy, that actually makes the grilled worm look not so bad.redwoodtreesprite wrote: »Wriggles in Gullet - Plump Worm Soup basically. My argonians love it.

Haggis and Fried Snickers are both Scottish, so be very careful there or someone will play the racism card. Actuall Haggis isn't much weirder than sausages (it essentially is a giant sausage with offal in it), and fried Snickers is actually quite nice.
Us British also eat Black Pudding (blood pudding to Americans) which is lovely with bacon, sausages, fried bread, etc. We also eat White pudding (also blood pudding to Americans) which is essentially the same thing, but a different colour. And we eat salad cream, which is completely different to mayonaise.Locusts I can get behind, even after seeing the episode of QI were Stephen Fry choked on a chocolate covered ant.The chineses eat locsuts. Actually they area said to mostly use "bones" instead of wood. I also just now noticed that the "wood sources" in game a all "Green Pact Compliant" - already dead trees.AlexDougherty wrote: »Ok, that makes sense, and explains how they can be archers too. One of the sidequest in the Pact involves distracting a shop owner by releasing a rat. The Kajiit that gives us this solution says:AlexDougherty wrote: »tylarthb16_ESO wrote: »no mention of the plump maggot and plump rat toe recipes?
Not found them yet, as I said a couple of hours a day, spread across four characters, so I'm still quite low level.
I have just found the Maggot Haggis and slug soup recipes.
Please, if you've found them, tell me about them.
Yeah, I'm doing all three factions, so I've seen them, didn't notice that the Khajiit said that dockrats were delicious though, good catch. The Bosmer threatening the Khajiit was funny though. One of the sidequest in the Pact involves distracting a shop owner by releasing a rat. "The tavern owner cannot stand the dockrats. To bad, they are delicious!"
And then there was this one Khajiit in Greenshade that was held a bowpoint by a Bosmer because he eat a flower...

I'm actually pretty thrilled and amused by these. My bosmer Dragon Talon is a very old RP of mine, and one of the running jokes is, as an adventurer, she is quite happy eating things that amazing and nauseate others, like spiders and bugs and things. She is quite gleefully becoming quite the cook.
I just wish they allowed for more bugs and animals in alchemy. As a Bosmer, she doesn't usually eat plant parts. Right now, she's decided that mushrooms are more on the evil side of the plant kingdom, and collects those for potions, but it severely limits what she can do alchemy wise.
