Reloading default to use high game textures

This is by no means game breaking like other peoples issues, but does anyone else have to reload the games default (x) graffics to be able to have the option to run the game with high textures? (Ive never seen ultra textures either, only ultra in 2 graffics catagories).

Every time I load eso, I have to do this to run it with high textures. Saving the settings will only save it for one gameing session. When I close the game client, and reload, medium textures are back, and is all I am allowed to use before I reload default, which I can then again choose high.

Any dev available to give some insight on this work around, or to confirm it as a bug?

Do you happen to have the settings file set to read only? I did that to attempt keeping the game from altering a setting I made but itd prevent texture settings from changing.

or run eso in admin mode so it has rights to change the settings file.

The .ini file as read only? Ill check that when I get home from work.

I have never altered the file like you did, but I will check.

Could you post up the folder location on pc please.

it could be the location of the settings file too, if its under the c:\program files depending on your os and computer setup and rights, you may need to run eso.exe in admin mode as \program files is a protected directory.

it could also be one of your graphics driver programs, such as nvidia's control program thingymajig, comes with a feature that automatically adjust game graphics to optimal settings every time you start a game, I'd check there too

If it was a graphic setting or resolution I could agree with you but high res textures? I don't think that's a driver thing but I could be wrong.

Isn't there a separate option for texture resolution under the actual screen resolution settings? Not trying to argue, but it could be nVidia's vision program it's happened to me before when I express installed drivers when playing a previous game.

High texture resolution is a option in CCC or nvidia controls. So that can be a driver issue. A new driver did come out a few days ago for nvidia idk about amd. If you are wanting a upgrade in graphics use sweetfx it's a graphics overlay that highly improves graphics such as textures and shadows. It also doesn't not lower fps or cause any lag. Recommend Radeon pro and sweetfx 1.4 as 1.5 isn't to great causes a lot of crashes for me.
